Ok, so my car (a 1999 Ford Mustang with 140K miles) started acting funny yesterday and the battery light came on. Eventually, it died. I had the battery and alternator replaced. A little later in the day I drove the car and now the idle is very low (less than 500 RPM). In fact, it even killed on me as I parked the car and when I had to make a slow turn. However, both times it killed I was able to start it back up easily. I called the "shade-tree mechanic" who I let fix it and he says the car's computer needs to be reset. What do you all think? Thanks in advance.

Specifically an Oldmobile Rocket 98 from 1952 or a '69 Chevy Impala. I've recently become obsessed with old cars and (Of course) my mother told me to figure out how much it would cost to maintain a classic. So...it'd be fantastic to know how much that'd cost!

I Have a honda prelude and my car constantly stalls out on me. It happens when I'm coming to a stop with the car in neutral. If I'm lucky enough for my car not to stall when coming to a complete stop after putting my car in neutral, once I press in the clutch pedal the RPMs will drop significantly even enough to stall some times. I don't have to be moving I can be parked with my car idling and once I push the clutch in the RPMss drop. Also if this makes a difference when I'm turning and I push in the clutch pedal sometimes it sticks in...
any help would be greatly aprecited thanks in advance

a friend of mine who repairs cars and sells them says if a car was manufactured in 1973, (uk) it does`nt require road tax. also, i saw an advert for a car for sale recently saying it`s exempt from road tax because it was made in 1973. i think it was an m.g. i`m rather baffled by this. dont all vehicles have to be taxed? also, does this apply to any other countries. (e.g. america)

I have a 99 2-door Cavalier. My drivers side door will not unlock. It is not automatic locks, but a manual one. It seems like the knob is jammed and won't move. If I pull on it far enough from the inside, I can open my door while holding it. Otherwise, when I try to get in with my key from the outside, it won't open. So I have to crawl from my passenger side. lol How easliy can this be looked at/fixed? Would it cost a lot or could I have someone like my brother just take the door apart? Thanks!

I recently got rear-ended and it later turned out that my car suffered a total loss. As a result, the other party's insurance had to settle with us but they said that there's a maximum amount of money they can give out because of the other party's coverage says that their property damage can only give out $5000 max.

Now the estimate that came out for repairing the entire car is a little over 8 k, so i'm basically losing 3k!

Furthermore, apparently I now have to report my car to the DMV and get a salvage certificate and do all this junk to re-register the car and get a new title.

Can anyone help me understand this property damage clause on the car insurance because I'm not too keen on it, and how is that when I had no fault in the car accident, but am still losing money. And can anyone clear up the stuff I have to do regarding salvaging the car with the DMV? I dont understand that procedure either.

Thanks.

they made this seat for one year (79) for the special. the 1980-81 seat will not fit. nor will a standard xs1100 fit. It must be for the 79 xs1100 special. Ebay gets one occasionally and they sell for outrageous prices. I've called numerous salvage shops in the northeast and even some in the south with no luck, my price range is $130 max including the shipping. thanks for any suggestions or leads you can give me.

I have a 1988 Mazda B2200 manual. Originally, I had a massive oil leak coming through a hole in my fuel pump (the hole comes stock on the fuel pump, and no one could seem to figure out why oil was coming through it). The fuel pump has been replaced, and now oil is shooting into my carburetor through the vacuum hose.

I was told that it could be a faulty PCV valve, so I replaced that. I'm still having the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Andrew

Should I just go with a GMC plug made specifically for my truck or are there better performing plugs out there that I could use? Need to add that I have an extended warranty from AAA and wonder if using anything other that GM plugs would void the warranty if something happened. Thanks in advance.
