I have a 91 Blue Ford Taurus and I wanted to fix up the paint job. It had lots of scratches so I compounded them out and used a paste wax (which was hell and I never want to use again) (all Turtlewax products). A week later it looks like the wax is gone and the scratches from the compound are horrible!! -fine swirls all over.

So, 1.Is there a finer compound I should use or does it just need a new clear coat?
and 2. Is there a wax (not a paste wax) that is fairly easy to apply and lasts longer than a week??

I can't afford a new car so I am trying to make the best of what I have. Any help is greatly appreciated! ; )

Anyone have any ideas on the cheapest way to buy your annual season ticket?
I need to travel from Billericay (outside London) to Prince Albert (Docklands, Zone 3 though I will be travelling through 4,5 & 6 to get there)

I don't know how it works, is there one specific place I have to buy the ticket or can I shop around? I notice that the Docklands Light Rail do one for £928.00, and that means I would have to buy an additional ticket from Billericay to Stratford, - but notice you can get a travelcard Annaul ticket that will cover everything at once.
Found it a bit hard to find the prices of these last two though.

eeekk so confused!

I recently bought a new car (07 Rabbit) and I want to know the doos and donts while in the break in period. I currently have 1700km on it and I was told that the break in was like 1000km but I think its not alot. I was also curious if my gas mileage will be better after the break in point.

My boyfriend was driving on a gravel road when it first started.Everything else is fine it just sounds like something might break off so I am afraid to drive it but I have to go to work and it is too far to walk. Is it the router or the breaks or something else?

Would you choose to drive a luxury car that makes you appear wealthy & attractive to the opposite sex & handles like a dream, but the car doesn't do well in side-impact crash tests...
Or...
Would you drive a cheaper car that looks a bit odd with a brand name that's not so recognisable & gives you an average ride but it does the best in the side-impact crash tests?

We just bought a 24' boat that has been sitting (unused) for a year. The outside needs to be cleaned along with the canvas. It's currently moored in saltwater. Anyother suggestions for clean up and products we can use?

Have a 1993 Chrysler Town & Country (just purchased car for work & school). It's old but runs great & couldn't beat the price. Only issue: radio doesn't work - when I try to turn it on, absolutely no sound, only thing I can hear is the clicking sound from one of the back speakers when I turn off the switch. Taking to a mechanic next week for tune-up, can this be fixed??

I drive 32 miles to work. This morning I shut the engine off and I hear a loud bubbling buzzing sound. I open the hood and discover it's coming from the plastic water-overflow bottle. It is full to capacity and water is boiling. The temperature reads normal. My A/C works well, but these past few days, it will stop blowing air for about 20 seconds or so then it will kick back up. Can anyone trouble shoot with me.

This morning a man walked by and his forearm bumped the driver's rearview mirror. At first we thought he broke it. We got his personal information in case we need to get in touch with him again.

But a small bump is probably not going to loosen/break (it's kind of barely hanging on) the rearview mirror.

Either a.) it was broken when we got the car but nobody noticed.

or b.) somebody hit the mirror while it was parked.

Should I be honest and tell the rental agency about it? Or hope they won't notice?

I feel stuck because if I say something, I could get charged. Even if it was already broken when we took it, how can we prove that?

What should I do?

I bought a standard 1987 toyota corolla so I can practice driving stick. My main problem is smoothly driving my car out of first gear. I try to gently release the clutch while slowly applying gas but then the car always ends up jumping forward or coming to a slow stall.

How can I get the car to smoothly come out of parking without having to rush into 2nd gear and mashing on the gas pedal?

Ok.. this guy wrecked in my car at his house, and about four people saw it. At first he didn't even say anything until he was confronted about it. Said he would pay for everything just to get a quote, well it turned out to be pretty expensive. Now he is saying he'll only pay for 60% of it. Is that possible? If I take him to court could I win? Since I have witnesses.
