I hope you can give me some advice on this! I live in California. My vehicles interior was vandalized, and while I know exactly who did it, I have no proof, and cannot take them to civil court to recover the repair costs. I have gone to my insurance company, and they say that the damage is worth more than the vehicle, and that they wish to declare it "salvage." I'm not sure what this means, but I am afraid it might give me
problems in the future, if not with my insurance rates, then possibly with registration fees, etc. The vehicle works perfectly and is of course safe to drive, the only damage is superficial and comsmetic; someone took a knife to the interior. I can easily spend $40 on carseat covers.
Can you tell me what kind of consequences I can expect if they declare this vehicle salvage? Also, why they are doing it, and if there is a way to stop it?

I hear often that the resistance of the wind takes up just as much gas as the A/C. I've been saying I'll just start putting the windows down in the morning, but in the afternoon I have to have the A/C. I live in Florida and the temp is almost a hundred if not more in August.

my exhaust tips are pretty beat up and dented on my 2001 kawasaki ninja zx600, its a duel exhaust and i am going to put on two of those exhaust tips that you see on hondas and such, now, ive heard all kinds of different things, back pressure and baffles and such, i went to an exahust shop and they said it wont hurt the bike at all as long as i keep the pipes the same lengh or maybe extend them a couple inches. now, ive seen these choppers and such and they have just straight pipes all the time, is there a difference between mine and theres besides the normal things, will it sound like an indy car or something? how loud will it be? compaired to a harley being a 10 on a sound scale and a 1 being a scooter. im tired of the quiet exhaust and cannot afford another preformance one, Loud Pipes Save Lives ive always said. opinions plz, knowledge is power

I looked and it doesn't look easy, like on one side it looks like you have to remove the battery? Am I looking in the wrong place. The replacement is a little bulb in a brown holder that is kind of J shaped. It is obvious that it is to plug in somewhere, but where? It can't be that hard, can it? Help please

My dream is to become a pilot for a commercial airline (or something similar) but i really don't know anybody personally who is a pilot. I would really like to talk to one about how they got to where they are.
I am currently 17, and in my junior year of high school. I enjoy physics and trig, but hate english. I'm pretty sure that I want to fly planes. When i was 14, i was in the Civil Air Defense, and i learned a lot about planes (i only got to fly a plane twice). I had to stop going to CAP when i was 15 because of wrestling and soccer.
I was just wondering if there are any pilots out there who would like to talk with me about their carrer.

Is there a way I can read it on the internet and if not where then can I get it? Is reading this and passing the test the only thing you have to do before getting your permit?

I recently saw something on TV saying that having the AC on in your car does not effect your gas mileage, having the windows down in your car will effect your gas mileage more. My husband swears that having the AC on will run down your gas. Does anyone know if this is true or not???

I am 19 years old, and currently about to learn to drive. Can my parents teach me while I have a learner's permit, to get my license? How long do they need to teach me for, before I can get a license and do they have to follow like guidlines and stuff from like the DMV, etc?

Also, I live at home, my parents bought me my car. Can they put me on their insurance policy? Also, does this mean I don't need to sign or have to pay or worry about any thing for insurance?

Please let me know. Thanks.

I'm 15, and recently acquired my permit. I have taken 2 behind-the-wheel lessons so far (2 hrs each, and will have one more yet). I've been out driving some in the past couple of weeks, and I'm comfortable and calm while driving, but of course I realize I need a lot more practice now and experience through the years as well.

Any tips for being a safe driver would be wonderful. Even the littlest of things could be of great importance. Thanks! :)
