Well, just saw the question. If ya ain't got it by now, you might have found out that wd-40 doesn't cut calcium, and neither does penetrating oil. Muriatic acid works well on calcium, but it akso damages parts. The best thing I've found for this problem is white vinegar. If you can get the lock out, soak it for a few hours in the vinegar. If it's too hard to remove, use a syringe and squirt vinegar into the lock and let it sit, then do it again every 20 to 30 minutes for about 3 or 4 hours. Then add a few drops of machine oil to the lock to lubricate it. Penetrating oil is not a good lubricant, it is too thin. WD-40 is not even a lubricant, the WD in WD-40 stands for "Water Displacent". Vinegar is your best bet in this situation, as it dissolves the calcium.

Spray some coca cola up there and let it eat it up then fresh water to get the crap out . After it's all cleaned up just put some bearing or lithium greese in there and that will keep corrosion out.

You CRC a product you can buy at any hardware store.Then lubricate it with a white lithium grease which can be found at some hardware stores or boat stores i.e. Boaters World.

there is a product sold in home cleaning section called CLR
Calcium Lime Rust. It comes in a gray container.Try that to clean it up then follow up with WD-40 to lubricate it.

Put baking soda and water on it. That should help eat away at the corrosion.
