I've heard that imports are generally better to buy than American cars if you are considering buying a used car. What imports are generally among the best? What is the maximum mileage I should consider when checking out these used import cars?

I have a 67 elcamino and I am trying to get rid of it but i want to find the right buyer. It is my baby and so want some car enthusiest to restore it or something not someone who's not going to take care of it. Anyway going from a v8 engine to a 4 banger is a little weird for me, and wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions as to what car I should get. I want something that's good on gas and really reliable. I was thinking about getting a Mazada, but I'm not really familar with the brand. Any info or suggestions will be much appreciated, thank you!!!!!

My air conditioner for my Jimmy is blowing hot air. I tried to recharge with a converter kit and found out the following. Compressor seemed to be stuck then started. Fluid came out the compressor(or whatever you call the thing being turned by the belt). How much will it cost to repair?

I'm buying my first bike within a week. I've never been on a bike and have no clue how to shift when stopping. For example, I'm coming up on a turn and I'm in 4th gear. Do I have to drop it all the way to first gear before making the turn? Because once you let go of the throttle I'm sure the bike slows down on it's own. I could downshift, but from 4th gear all the way down to 1st gear then back up to 4th gear after making the turn seems like an awful lot of shifting. I plan on practicing in an empty parking lot and taking the MSF course as soon as I can get in one. So can I just let the bike go down to 15 mph in 3rd gear and after making the turn just keep riding till I have to shift up again.

I have a factory ford CD player in my 2005 Ford Crown Vic. I used wire taps to connect the unit to an external amp for subwoofers and the remote wire to the external amp. A couple of days after I did this, the CD player stopped working. When I push the volume knob, the time comes on briefly before going off and the disc inside the player ejects and loads with no problem, the stereo tuner and CD player just doesn't function. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the problem could be.

I'm not sure if that's normal or if it's coz of a wreck I just had 3 weeks ago. I got it fixed and all, but at about 70 miles per hr it just sounds like it is working too hard, even tho it's in the 5th gear.

It only has 74000 miles and I had the transmission serviced three months ago, but when I put it in park it continues to rev until I press down on the gas which seems to release it and it quiets down. There is also a slight high pitched sound while idling which is new. I will of course bring it to a shop but would appreciate any insight, cheers.

My Park Avenue has developed problems. It began with some odd A/C activity. It would blow hot air but not every time it was started. Some times it was hot on both sides sometimes only on the passenger side. Now I have a check engine light accompanied by the traction control light staying on longer than normal. In the morning it stays on until I move the car. When the check engine and traction control lights started I noted the voltage was low, about 11.5 on the dash meter. I put a real meter on it and found the static battery voltage to be 12.7 vdc and the charging voltage 13.8 vdc. Battery is staying charged. That's OK so the problem is in the indication. I scanned the codes and found a P0171 System too lean (Bank 1). I have seen coincidental problems but not four at a time. Something is common to all this and I have no idea where to start. I am a fair shade tree mechanic but really need some experienced help. Please offer any thoughts you might have. Thanks to all.

It says that it's owned by Aol now and now I'm having trouble getting anywhere in regards to maps. They apparently insist on using federal highways to get anywhere. Mapquest used to always have good maps now today when I tried to use it insisted on using a federal highway.

Hi i was just wondering if you could help me i got pulled over by the police for driving with out a license and insurance. They gave me a piece of paper what said i have to bring in all my driving docs within 7 days to a local police station. so then they gave me the paper and let me go. What do you think will happen if i go to the police station and tell them i didn't have a driving license or insurance. also the only reason i was driving is because i was practice how to park my car. also i have a friend in the car would this be better or worst.

I always put premium gas in my Honda CBR600, even though it does not require premium gas.
Does it do any good to the bike?
or it is waste of money?
