It's time to buy a new car. We have a 2003 Honda Civic that I drive, which is paid for. My husband has 1980's Ford "Country Squire" station wagon. He loves this car & calls it a "classic". I've told him it's a ghetto ride (the interior is blue velour, need I say more?), but he says he's never getting rid of it.

His car recently broke down and needs $2500 worth of work. I'm tired of him taking my car everyday, so I was thinking we could just get a new car instead of spending 2 grand. I stay at home with our son and I babysit full time, so it made sense to me that I get a minivan and he gets my Civic.

My husband is such a kind person. He works so, so hard and goes to school full-time. Part of me feels like he deserves to have the newer one. But part of me says, "I want the car. I need it because of the kids & groceries, etc.".

I don't want to be selfish, but I Idon't want to share either. Ok - Who gets the car?

I have been told that it could be shocks or swinging arm bushes but 2 garages cant say which method will cure the problem. It's a case of try one and if that don't work try the other.

About 3 weeks ago the battery light in my 92 Renault Clio came on and stayed on. I pulled over and sure enough my alternator belt had gone. So I got this changed and everything has been fine for about a week.

Now the light is coming back on again but not all the time. As a general rule, as I pick up speed the brighter and longer the light stays on. The belt doesn't appear to be slipping or at least I can't hear anything and it seems to be moving OK.

So has my alternator gone now and if so why is not showing a full light all the time?

This might sound really horrible, I know, but there's a reason for it. I'm 16 and I'll be getting my license in October, and my family has three cars, a volkswagen, a saab, and a smelly, old, 1995 Volvo 850 GLT. My sister has been driving the heck out of it (she's 18 and in college now, so she doesn't need it anymore) So, the volvo is my car when I get my license. My dad is looking into getting a new car around March of 2008. My plan, however, is to accelerate that process by KILLING MY VOLVO. You see, if I can kill my volvo, then my dad will buy a new car quicker and in time for my license test. Any help will be greatly appreciated. And the solution can't be to drastic. Something like ruining the transmission, or screwing up the ECU. Thanks in advance.

I have a 65 Stang, and I took it down to a family friend who races and works on old Mustangs. He said that my front end is shot, and I need all new bushings. I have alot of extra money, so if I wanted to upgrade the suspension, what should I do? Should I put in a Mustang II front suspension, I've always been told that they were the best of the classics. Any help/opinions would be great.

i would rather lease a new car and then finance the buyout amount than finance a certified used car. I dont drive a lot of miles and i am not hard on my cars when it comes to damaging the body and interior. why would that be a bad idea?

Hi, my sister has been having some trouble with her car. It's a 1995, 3.3l V6 (Straight fuel, not flex), automatic. When the car drives through a puddle (deep or shallow), about 1 minute later the headlights will start to dim, then shut off. Then the car will jerk a couple of times, and shut off, which in turn locks the steering (Power steering), and the brakes (ABS). Anybody know what the problem might be? Also, a mechanic told us that it was a rain shield inside the wheel well, but we replaced that, and it still messes up.

Gauge pops up a few seconds later. First pump lasted 150K, this one's 5K old. I can't be failing can it?? Can it just be a bad sensor? Lack of oil?

i had my car on neutral and press the gas all the way down and then shifted to drive. and the car sounded like something got stuck and it would not move after that. When i changed gears and pressed the gas the engine would sound but the car would not move and when i put it in park the car made this wierd crackling noise. I have a 97 ford explorer.
I was being an idiot trying to do a burnout....
