Neither! Get a Pontiac Vibe! It's made in the same plant as the Matrix with the same parts and by the same people.

you are comparing apples and oranges, the Toyota is a larger car and has a larger engine which translates to less fuel economy. The Toyota still get impressive fuel economy with around 34 on the highway where the Honda Fit gets 40. The car that Toyota has that is designed to be the competitor to the Fit is the Toyota Yaris, you can get it in a 2 door or 4 door where you can only get the Fit in a 4 door. The Toyota also has the advantage with the warranty with a 3/36 bumper to bumper with a 5/60 power-train where the Honda only carry a 3/36 across the board. If you like the Matrix you may want to consider the dodge Caliber, it is in the class of the Matrix and it comes with a 3/36 bumper to bumper and a lifetime power-train. Imagine that, buying a new car and the engine, transmission and drive line is taking care of for as long as you own that car, even if you have 300,000 miles on it. Toyota and Honda or no other car manufacture comes close. I hope that this helps. Good luck. Adub

Toyota is 100% better than Honda, so get a Matrix instead of a Fit.

honda is definitely more reliable and you can put so many more mile's on a honda than any other car. the toyota matrix drives like a tin can...it has no power at all. although the matrix may look better, the honda will last 250 or 300 thousand miles and drives so much better

Actually a Scion xD which will be available nationwide in August would be a better choice then the Fit or Matrix. Scions are made by Toyota for the "Y" generation and are the best bang for the buck around $15,000.00. Standard abs, side impact airbags and curtain airbags, dual VVT-i engine for better performance, better emissions control, and better mpg. Check it out at www.Scion.com and just follow the links to your nearest dealer.
