I'm building a boat house and need to know the weight of the boat to determine how I'm going to hoist it.

I really not know. What I do with every trailer I get. First I fill my truck with gas. Then I weigh it at a Truck Stop. Write down the number in your owners manual or somewhere you not lose. This be good as long as you have your Truck/Car.
Then when you have the boat hitched up and full of gas and all gear. Run by the truck stop and weigh again, subtract the weight of your tow vehicle and you can write down that number so you not forget.
Let the boat trailer be part of the boat weight. Your lift needs to be rated for more than just what the boat weighs so the trailer weight is an added safety buffer to what the hoist needs to lift.
