The buzzer is there to remind you of headlights ON when the engine is OFF. So somewhere it thinks the engine is off.

Depending on your car it can be very simple or very complicated. The simplest are buzzers with 2 sensor wires (besides the power and ground). One goes to headlight and the other to SWITCH power source (indicating engine on or off). One of the wires that sense the engine on is loose or disconnected.

Some of the modern cars the buzzer is controlled by the ECU / computer. Fixing these can cost you lots of time and / or money. In that case it is probably better (easier) to listen and follow the sound of the buzzer and just clip the power wire to the buzzer. I warn you that you WILL not be reminded of headlights on when the engine is off.

Often these things are simpler to just re-install than fix. I would follow the sound and clip the buzzer. Then I would buy another headlight warning buzzer and have that re-installed. If you did the work yourself, you can probably do it under $20.

Good Luck

Well, I'd be happy to help you IF I knew what make, model, engine, transmission and year plus if you have or don't have air conditioning, power steering, etcetera. Now, the most common and easiest to check would be the switch itself. If the buzzer works when the vehicle has the ignition turned off, then it's most likely a bad wire or even a grounding(earth) problem. If it only buzzes when the ignition is on, then it's most likely STILL the switch, plus something along with it. I could give a better answer with a little more information though. Yet check that first before going to a shop.

ive never seen a car with buzzer when u turn on lights. but you could start doing a wiring test. check to make sure the wiring between your switch and wiring harness is not shorted.
