Here's a list from Yahoo Autos of all new cars/hatchbacks/wagons (no SUVs or Trucks) with AWD that are under $25k:

http://autos.yahoo.com/carfinder/?sort=msrp&sortdir=asc&num=15&msrp=1&msrp=0&driveline=AWD&bodystyle=SDN&bodystyle=HBK&bodystyle=WGN&expanded=price&expanded=bodystyle&expanded=performance

Personally I think the Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan (mechanically identical cars) AWD look pretty nice, though the AWD gets about 10% worse fuel economy than the FWD model.

I'd say look for cars like these 1997 and up with under 100,000 miles, but be warned whenever you need to replace even one tire on an AWD car you need to replace all of them so you don't cause damage to the AWD System.
Most Subaru's
Mitsubishi Lancer EVO
Some Volvo's
Some Acura's
Ford Fusion
Chrysler 300(Hard to find in AWD)

The Subaru WRX or Imprezza are AWD cars. They look nice and is really fast. Also, the Lexus IS250 AWD is well...an AWD. It's luxorious and is also fast. Looks great and gets good mileage. Here are some more.

-Subaru WRX (STI)
-Subaru Imprezza
-Lexus IS250/IS350 AWD version.
-INFINITI G35 2007 x AWD
-MERCEDES-BENZ C280 2007 AWD
-TOYOTA Matrix 2006 XR 4WD
-DODGE Charger 2007 SXT AWD
-SUZUKI Aerio 2007 Premium AWD
