Just wondered if anyone else has encountered the spline wearing out thus being unable to change gear or have great difficulty trying to.The allen screw tightens right up but the gear lever still rotates on the splines.Anyone got any suggestions for a Mod rather than buy another linkage? I've tried taking the screw out and putting a nylock nut and bolt through for extra tightness but still no joy.Maybe I could clamp the splined gear lever a little bit in a vice?

I have read that diesel engine were first designed to run on peanut oil and that its legal to use vegetable oil as long as you pay tax on it ( theres a form you can download). Just wondered if anyone does it and does the car run ok.

I have a JBL GTO 601.1II amp that runs at 424 Watts RMS x 1 channel at 4 ohms. With it I have a P1222 (400W RMS, 1200W Peak). I was on the highway and my lights started going crazy, I stalled and couldn't get my car to start. I had it checked a the Ford service center (I have a Ford Escape 2005, XLS) and they said my alternator was busted. I paid $600 for a new one. Is it because of my car audio system? How do I prevent this from happening again? Do I need an external battery for my sound system alone? and lastly, how do I set it up?

My left front end makes a hiss noise.
I was told it may be a strut.
I have a 2006 pontiac g6 with 28.5k miles.
was just wondering if it was a strut and if a repair like this would be cover under a "36k bumber to bumber" waranty?

when considering a car, which matters more.

for example, a 93 honda accord with 80,000 miles Vs a 99 Honda acoord with 168,000 (100k of which were put on in the last 3yrs)

of course, this considers all things being equal ( i.e, maintance being performed when need, both in the past and in the future)

which will last longer?

(please disregard traits of either vehicle- this one is know for this, that one for this, etc)

So the left front on my 2000 Camaro makes a whining/winding noise. I have been told that it is the wheel bearing. For only 7 years old and 42,0000 miles what could have caused this to happen? If not the wheel bearing what else could be making the noise? Is there some sort of test I can do to ensure that the problem if is in fact the wheel bearing?

I just bought a 1999 Chevy Blazer (V6-Automatic) with 55,000 miles on it. The car overall is excellent except for the acceleration. Once you gain speed over 15 to 20 mph, the acceleration comes to a crawl almost. It's like it's a 4-cylinder engine all of the sudden. Passing on the highway is a struggle, and mountain hills are out of the question. The Blazer is equipped with Chevy's "Vortec 4.3 Liter V6", their bigger engine for this model, but it sure don't feel like it. Could this be because of a defective throttle sensor, or is it an engine problem.

My yamaha r6 runs a bit better after I sprayed the carbs on it but still runs crappy. I know i need to take the carbs apart but dont know how too really but i've been using seafoam and it works better now. The bike is getting better but anyone recommend something else other than seafoam(B-12 maybe?). My friend says the carb cleaner works best when u take it on the highway and open the throttle...anyone try that? Any advice on fixing it would be great, i dont have 200 t0 spend at the bike shop.

i have a caddy 93 seville and i been haveing this problem for a while. it gets accelerated so i took it to get it checked and they ran a test on it and it marked 3 censors were no good, so i changed them all. i still have the same problem though. the RPM metter goes up as soon as i turn the car on to like about the 3 and stays there till i push the gas a little. and wen im driving it feels like its not catching gears. while im driving, ill press the gas and all u hear is the engine rev and the RPM metter goes up but the car wont advance. then suddenly the car jolts then it goes back to normal i guess you can say. any suggestions on what this could be. im not sure what censors i changed but i know one is the Throtle Possiton Censor. The IAC censor is a little messed up too it clicks but i doubt thats the problem. the other censor has to do with a valve opening and closeing to determine how much gas or how hard ur pushing the pedal. i dont know like i sed any suggestions on what this is?

I purchased this car in 2005 with 1000 miles on it. It ran great till 2006, then just started breaking down one thing after another. I replaced the radiator, the alternator, the battery, the transmission mounts, and have had the carbarator cleaned. It needs a timming belt, but the engine is in time the belt is just cracked. I replaced the distributor cap. Today I replaced the starter. Before replacing the starter it just made clicking noises, the stater engages, but the engine wuld not turn over. After replacing the starter the engine turned over one time, and then just does the same thing before replacing the starter. Why wont it start?
