Because if I catch the next person who tries to break into my car im going to run out with a baseball bat. My first car was broken into they took the stereo in it. Then about three months later (the same car) someone else stole it and totaled it. And now the new car someone messed up the lock as if they tried to break in. And now I just constantly look out the window with a bat in reach.....(I don't live in a bad neighborhood, and no other car on my street has been messed with)

I had recently just bought a 81 Dodge Mirada but it was over heating. I just recently found out that the cooling fan just spins on the on the shaft even with out the engine running. Even when I would start the car the fan would spin slowly and never catch up with how fast the shaft was spinning with the belt

I lost my key, and just need to know if theres any other method, than having them cut... cuz the ppl at this tire shop charge 100 bucks for that... is there any other way, cheaper way? if yes then, which garage around nothern virginia (if you are from there) or some franchise store (Walmart? Sears?) might have it...

My car is a 1992 Buick Park Avenue. Had the job done at a local shop that I believe is a reputable shop, BUT, I have just been told I could have gotten a better deal at Midas, Les Schwab, or Firestone.

Here's the break-down or brake-down...if you will:

"Front brake job -- $160
2 - rebuilt calipers installed -- $95 each / $190 total
1 - rotor -- $60
Flush fluid -- $60

Total -- $470"

They also told me the rear brakes didn't need work at the time - this was just 3 months ago - and today my brakes totally failed on the freeway. Yesterday they were spongy, I got brake fluid and tried adding some, but it didn't seem to need much. Then today, they were spongy again, and when I applied the brakes, the car pulled to one side, I exited the freeway and then I heard a LOUD LOUD repetitive banging noise as I came to a stop. I had to have my vehicle towed home.

I've always wondered if slamming the breaks and swerving the tire is such a good idea. I mean, the movies say other wise, they kill of a bunch of people this way, but does it work in real life? If not, what would be the best way to get out of this situation alive?

the ignition switch on my ford probe has 6 wires all together 2&5 are 12 volt constant, 2/5 + 4 = acc, 2/5 + 1 = starter movement,2/5 + 6 = on/fuelpump but i cannot figure out what 3 is for does anybody know?

I graduated in May and have just landed my first job, paying $45k. I have very minimal monthly bills (about $300). The car I'm driving now doesn't have any major problems but it's got 170,000 miles on it and is old, so I'd like to get a new, more reliable one for work. In my situation, would it be smarter for me to consider leasing or buying? I'd like to get a hybrid. Thanks for any advice!

I have a 98 Avalon XLS and the leather is tannish-gray. The seats are actually still in pretty good condition, with few cracks. However, I'd like to further prevent cracking and remove some of the dirt that is on the seats. The dirt isn't coming off with just water and a towel. I also park my car on the driveway which is in the sun, so what should I use to clean and condition my leather and how often should I do it?

I think I need to re-jet. Here are my symptoms:

1. Unresponsive Acceleration at times.
2. BIke backfires. Burps.
3. RPMs drop slowly when the bike is rev'd.
4. Poor gas millage

Thoughts?

my dad is doing work on a 95 dyna for a guy . the bike only had 98 miles on it when we started working on it, the guy bought it and was scared to ride it so he let is sit in his garage until now. so we did put pipes and bigger jets on the carb. after all the work was done. When trying to start the bike you will just hear a click! and no start. we pushed started it and it ran fine. So we replaced the starter and still just click! and we changed the starter realy too soame problem.do you tink there is a short and the circuit breaker is making the click.

In the latest issue of motor trend, they have an article on the upcoming 08 mecedes c63 amg. They say, i quote "Power output dialed back to 450 hp and 443 pound feet" Yet the same engine in the black series clk63 gets 500 hp. Motor trend also says it will be "child's play" to get it to the 500 hp mark. How do they do that? and How can you get it back to the 500 hp mark? Thanks

I have an 89 ford mustang gt 5.0 5 speed and I cannot start the car. It will not even turn over. We charged the battery for 3 hours with a car battery charger and we also tried to jumpstart the car but everything has failed! Please please help. I have no clue what's wrong with my car. I usually can figure just about anything out about it but this has just got me stumped. Also I want to add, I even tried popping the clutch with the key on and the car in 3rd gear, but that failed also!
