Agree with you 100%. At this time of year there's around 15 hours of daylight, so why they can't work 105 hours per week to get the job finished in 1/3 of the time is totally beyond me.
It would also be nice to drive through roadworks and actually see some work being done.

It's called making the motorist think he is getting something or his road tax.
What really irritates me is to see ten miles of contra flow and general buggeration to find a bit of equipment dropped somewhere on it two men having a chat and no one ding anything else. The worst place for this that I have passed in the last 12 months was Stoke on Trent I think it's finished now but I do not know what was done l

What NEVER seems to occur to Motorists when they are COMPLAINING about the length of time it takes to do is the SAFETY of the people who are carrying out these works. I have heard of a LOT of these people being INJURED (some SEVERLY) and a few KILLED, because of the idiotic behaviour of a FEW motorists).

In a residential area there are certain times of the day when the work is NOT allowed to be carried out, and if it is used at 'rush' hour times - when a lot of people are travelling to/from work/schoool. My father does road surfacing, and in such places him and his colleagues are NOT allowed on the road BEFORE 9.30 am and MUST be OFF the road by 3 pm.
