I have a stick shift If you sit and practice in a stationary car for a while doing the foot on the clutch then when right in shift the gear stick into the pattern of 1-2-3-4-5 and hold your hand on the stick in such a manner your arm chooses to push in the correct direction each gear change you will be ok to start driving after about 2 hour then just take your time until you can do it smoothly.YThe advantages you are about to find out ~~

I never used an auto...but if you have a stiff clutch get ready for cramps or numb in your left leg for minutes.
- Learn in your driveway going straight and know the working level (50% - 90%) in the clutch.
- In the driveway learn how to shift with no jerking.
- When you know there is going to be a full stop put ur gear in neutral and don't press on the clutch just on the brakes so you can relax!
- KNOW HOW TO HANG IN A UPHILL TRAFFIC. (Mixing gas and clutch or using the e-brake and maintain your gas to 2000~3000rpm and release the e-brake)
If its you first time hanging you will be scared!

I like driving a stick. Some people don't. It mostly depends on how well you can "feel" the vehicle. I know it sounds strange but it has alot to do with how well you can react to the car... judging RPM's, knowing when to clutch, and making the shift.
In a funny way, its basically you and the car getting a little more personal.
Hope that all makes sense.

Its hard the first week. But you for sure will get it. Just get out there and do it, soon it becomes very easy to the point that you'll like it more than automatic.

its more difficult than an automatic. if you have never done it it might take you a while, took me about 10 lessons to get used to it and get good clutch control.
No it's not a pain, just comes normal after a while.
