Can I pay a auto mechanic to go with me to buy a car that was left on the side of the road from an auto auction or a junkyard, to tell me if it's worth fixing?

Is it difficult to change them yourself? I can't see any high voltage wiring (or actually any wiring) where one would expect to find the spark plugs (near the exhaust manifold).

I have a 2000 Suzuki Bandit S. Sometimes when I'm at a light, for some reason it wont switch into first gear. Other times it's really easy.

What can be causing this?

Over the past week my cars been making a reall loud whirring noise. The garages say that the bearing has gone in the front right wheel, i drive a renault clio 98 R reg.

I was planning on taking my car to london this weekend , which is about 100 miles there and 100 miles back. What are the chances of my car ******* up along the way? or the wheel dropping off? This trip is really important to me so If it will be ok to take it i will take my chances...

Will my bike pass its MOT if it has a small crack underneath the light, but not affecting the light at all, but meaning the panel is a little loose.

Also, I have sprayed the exhaust, meaning you can no-longer the the stamp on it.. (After-market exhaust) .

Will these things still pass through an MOT.

Thanks.

I've just bought a 1981 model Yamaha DT 125 MX and it's in good shape having been mostly rebuilt.
I was wondering how many miles you would be able to travel on one at about 50mph before needing to stop to let the engine cool down and make sure nothing is melting, and also how long you should stop for.

thanks!

A good estimate or price range would be helpful as well.

If all cars were made with a max speed of 80mph this would stop speeding and possibly prevent accidents/loss of life. I mean what's the point in a car being able to travel 160mph?

In 2001 I went in to a Honda dealership and paid (with cash) $15,000 for a new civic LX. Did I pay too much for it? It didn't really have many options actually. It was an automatic with power doors and windows, driver/passenger airbags, tilt, cruise. I kind of got a feeling that I overpaid when the salesman drove the next day to another city 45 min. away to pick it up and drive it back. And he seemed quite happy. LOL Oh well. What do you guys think?

When you go to the petrol station, you get a choice of normal unleaded and 'superior' unleaded. The 'superior' unleaded costs more but is supposed to be more fuel efficient. So if the 'superior' unleaded is more fuel efficient does it cost less 'per mile'?

what is the procedure to the adjustment? done it by the book 4 times and just won't run. should I just "old school" and adjust until no lash, start, and adjust by ear, w/ 1/4 turn? like we did in the ol' days on the strip?

The brake light on the dashboard has started coming on in the mornings. It seems to go away after the brake has been tapped a few times. It also only seems to happen when the vehicle is first started.

The brakes were recently checked (within 1-2 months of this beginning) at Goodyear, and they checked out fine. They don't seem to have any problem when I apply them.

Could this just be a short in the brake light itself, or should I have it checked out?

8 months ago, my father bought me my first new car - a 2006 civic EX coupe.

I recently decided to take a break with college and I got myself a full time hourly job with great pay. Because of this, I decided to take over responsibilities of paying for my car.

I have always wanted a 06-07 Civic SI, but my father insisted on the EX for my first new car. Now that I have taken over the payments, I was wondering if I could trade in my EX for an SI. It would be about 22 grand compared to my EX which was 20 grand. I don't want to tell my father yet, so I'm seeking advice here.

I have done some research, but there are many terms that I'm not familiar with. Lease, finance, quotes, I don't know about any of those. Can anyone help me out with these terms? Am I even able to do this type of trade in? Will I lose money? How do I go about asking a dealer for this type of trade?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!
