1994 ford ranger xlt, manual .. when driving in city i smelled burning. truck acted fine but after a while i noticed that the steering pulled to the left when braking. burning smell got more distinctive. was only three miles from home so i drove home. after stopping, a white cloud of smoke billowed from under the hood on the right side and smoke could be seen from just above the tire. my books say coolant but i am full of that and full of oil and full of power steering fluid and full of brake fluid. no leaks can be found. what could be the problem? wiring? clutch? thanks for any help.

My 23 year old friend just died in a car accident. The general consensus from authorities who responded to the scene is that if he would have been wearing his seatbelt, he would have survived.
I am so sad. Please, people, always wear your seatbelt. It saves lives!!

What are the pros and cons about each of these bikes? How reliable are yamaha, honda, and kawasaki? What are the common problems with these types of bikes? How long do sports bikes last(miles/kms) when in general use? What should I know before getting one? how would you compare these bikes with each other? If you were to get one of them, which one would you choose and why? Thanks to the answerers... :)

I have a 1995 Grand Prix special Edition. It has crazy wheels on it (+25mm offset) they are aluminum and leak like heck! I want replacements. 4BU body style coupe.

They are a 5X115mm bolt pattern (no, I don't consider 4.5 the same). Does anyone know of anywhere to get rims that meet these specs? Aside from looking stupid and inset, with regular GM rims on, the brake calipers go right through the rim spokes.

I have tried TireRack, and other sites, I'm looking for either an offset adapter (somewhere that machines custom ones) or some similar rims, plain old spacers won't work either, my studs aren't long enough and even if they were it wouldn't be overly safe to have that amount of stress on them.

Used rims on E-bay etc, isn't the best option since many of them have the same oxidation problems, losing air as well. I have considered reconditioning the rims, but have been quoted $600. Mine are the gold laced ones with the silver outside edge.

I'm not even sure if I know the definition of "fouled" , but I think I used too much throttle trying to start my 88 FZR 400 and now it won't start. I removed a couple of the plugs and they were soaked with gas...I think this is what you call fouled. Do I need to replace them or just clean them up/dry them off?

The hearse is all original with a cadi 472 engine. I plan on changing out the crank and pistons to make it a 500 ci with a new cam, intake, and dual exhaust. The car will not be a ghetto blaster or turned into an over-weight hot rod, but it will be repainted black (it's silver now) with a very stout engine for daily driving. Need a cool custom plate; right now I'm leaning towards QCK DTH for quick death. BTW, this is a TX car. Thanks.

In your opinion, are they safe enough for teen drivers- and if they are, safe enough for a first car or not?

Thats not really a question but, I was drilling holes for my behind the grill for my l.e.d's and as the drill went through the frame it quickly peirced the radiatior and it hissed for about 2 minutes and blew some fluid out but not much. Should I be worried? the hole was very small and didnt go in more than a mm. Is there a way to repair without costing lost of $? Do I need to repair? I started the car and let it run for a few minutes to see some reaction from the engine but it all "seemed" fine.

they keep showing us hybrid cars that get 40 - 50 miles per gallon, but they're almost all compact cars.
my dad drives a 1991 geo that gets 49 miles per gallon. why would i get a hybrid that gets the same but no mechanic could work on around here. why can't they offer a 4 wheel drive or a full-sized suv that gets 50mpg?
