These are all good answers and the only other thing I can think of, happened to me with my 90 awd, I bought it without a head on it and got a head off e-bay (big mistake) with bad valve seals. After I installed it the same thing happened to me.A good sign of bad valve seals is thick grey smoke in your exhaust when you go wide open but that will happen if your turbo seals are bad also. Definitely visually check your engine and parking space first, then open up your intake pipe. Good luck.

If you have no visible leaks, check the compression of the cylinders. If the compression is good, pull off the intake side of the turbo and see if it is oily inside. If it is the turbo seals are leaking.

It could be around the valve cover but if you dont see anything there it could be internal which sucks if it is. It could be a cracked head and oil is getting into the cylinder and burning it slowly.

are you sure it is burning oil? it could be leaking from somewhere that u just might not be able to see too clearly. check oil pan/valve cover 1st to be sure. if it is the valve cover you will be able to see it running down the head.
