I bought the car used three years ago. and it's now dead. The car's been nothing but trouble. I really want to get rid of it, but I still owe 5,000 on it. Is there anything I could do about this? Or am I screwed paying for a dead car? Thanks.

What are the best cars for the price of 10,000 and under?

Thanks

Someone offered to sell me their 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, which is diesel, for $4,068. I looked it up online to see how much they typically sell for with 170,000 miles on it (the amount on the car) and the kelly blue book value was 7-8 thousand. I am surprised that a car with so many miles on it is selling for so much, I actually thought $4,000 was a lot! Does anyone know if there is a reason why they are going for so much and how long it may last?

I've got an 89 ford probe automatic that is currently getting an average of 33mpg, as shown by the electronic fuel indicator, and it's been confirmed by me through gas receipt and odometer calculations. I have headers, k&n panel filter, and have been thorough on the maintenance. Tires are new and properly inflated.

I drive more responsibly than anyone out there. I start out slow at lights, anticipate stops, don't go over 65mph on the interstate, etc.

So i have all that down, I have excess weight removed from the car, Now i'm just wondering how much further some people take it.....

I could remove all the seats except the driver seat, not have a spare tire in the back, what other ways have you guys increased fuel economy?

*** I don't use air cond. ever, and i drive with windows up year round to decrease drag from the wind.

I've been told by others that when you put the a/c on in your car, that it 'takes away' from your gasoline supply and wondering if this were really true..?

I have a ford fiesta 1.25, it has a 12v battery. I just want a nice basic install around 12'' sub not to big - but big enough. I generally dont have a clue about all the technical issues like ohms and rms and stuff like that!!! but have a basic knowledge of electronics. And alot of you guys sound like real experts that i need a bit of advice from!. I am going to replace the door speakers and just asking if these would run easily off a headunit (kenwood probaly) or would they need to be connected to the amp. Also would 5'' component speakers be ok on their own or would i need additional speakers ie 6x9s on the rear shelf. Cheers guys!. ps i know this question is lacking alot of technical specifications like what size amp amp and what type of head unit but the i havent got that yet so just consider everything to be avarage i.e not to big not to small.

-Purchased NEW in '94,
-a little over 206,000 miles(seen some serious road time, but she's still in great condition)
-a steal at $2250 (price is negotiable)
-It does as well as a 13 year old car with a V6 can do on gas. About mid- to high-teens in the city, mid-twenties on the highway. The transmission slips a little when you start it for the first time of the day, but once she warms up it's smooth as silk. No major engine probs. I have all of the maintenance records for the past several years for you to review.

Most of the cars in my state don't seem to have a blinker that works when people are making a lane change. Has anyone else noticed this?

I have a KTM 360 2stroke dirtbike..... the manufacturer recommends i use SAE 30 oil... some people, including the dealership, told me to use honda hp trans oil, which is SAE 80w/85W..... is this OK or will it mess up the bike? Also, why are they telling me to run this thicker oil?

Anyone know of regular problems with Nationwide Autocentres, they took a car belonging to a friend of mine in for MOT, insisted it needed new brakes and wheel bearings, charged him £600 and didnt even keep the parts as proof!!!

Anyone had similar problems with these people?

When I hooked up my 100/90 watt bulbs (while they were installed in the new 4x6 headlight housings) for a practice run for some reason my factory bright lights came on by themselves. How could this be happening? My whole electrical system is stock also.

i've seen people do this somehow and it looksl ike a useful idea especially on the golf course where you need to get a dead machine out of the way. so how do you jump it? people seem to do it through the starter solenoid.

My friend seems to think that a turbocharged eagle talon could beat a lingenfelter 427 dual turbo charged corvette. He says the corvette could beat it in a straight line, but on a track with minimal straight stretch the talon would blow the doos of the high powered vette. His reasoning is that the talon is all wheel drive. However, I refuse to believe this. I have driven in corvettes b4 and I know that you can take big curves at 75 and not even feel it. so what do you think?? Is it really safe to say a one of the most powerful corvettes would never be able to take a eagle talon on a track?

We are getting ready to get rid of two older cars and go to one car. These are the ones we are interested in. I love a Honda CR-V He wants a Jeep Cherokee.

Please share the following:

First identify which you have.
what type of gas mileage you get on average.
the year of yours.

Also list the repairs yours has required.

Thanks for your input.
