There will not be any difference in the driving quality, because the profile of the 18" tires make them the same height as the originals. If you jack up the vehicle and put larger outside diameter tires, it will improve the ride, because holes that a 14" tire will fall into, an 18" won't.

Your steering response will be better with bigger wheels, yeah, but as you pointed out, you'll feel every bump on the road. It won't drive like sh1t if you do your homework and research the tire/wheel combo for your car. IF you want the same stopping performance and acceleration, go for lightweight wheels and upgrade your brakes (better pads/rotors).

Hope this helps.

Worse.

I just completed a donk car.

Thats a old Caprice Classic - lifted for bigger rims. 26" to be exact.

This thing was a pain in the rear to manuvuer around corners, but man do you get some looks.

suspension is engineered for the given size tires on the car. larger tires will ruin handling and because of the laws of physics actually slow down acceleration. it will also give u a crappier ride.

No, bigger, heavier wheels make your car worse. It won't handle as well and the extra weight(especially on the wheels) will make you slower.
