Any opinions: Is there a way to skip buying a hand-held diagnostics reader and hook up a laptop direct to the car's OBDII port (say, with special software)? Thank you.

the heads up light works but the 2 brake lamps dont. All other lights work, and no fuses blown and the filament doesnt appear to be damaged. Could it still be the bulbs?

Owners manual says Ethanol grade 10. We locally have E85 available which is grade 15 but my husband says it is ok to use in our van. I don't think we should. Who is right?

I live in Alberta and want to purchase a 2007 Prius. I know that I have to have the speedometer changed to kms and I have to add daytime running lights. But other than that I don't know what to expect once I get to the border and want to bring the Prius back.

I have a 94 Dodge Intrepid and it won't pick up speed when I go up a hill but when I go down a hill or if I'm on a straight stretch of road it will. It is burning gas really fast. Someone said it might be my convertor b/c the center console gets warm if I drive for a while. If you have any idea or suggestions please post them.

I would like to know if anyone has any thoughts or experiences with this car.
I am thinking about getting a 2007 but I haven't found many owners around.
I am thinking about the 2WD and smaller engine. I am reffering to the S40 in 2.4i 168HP.
Also, does anyone knows what is the price of maintenance? Are the service too expensive?

I have an 02 ford focus, and both the Haynes and Chilton manuals that I have are absolutely no help with details on the proceedure for changing the timing belt. In fact the pictures they show in both manuals look nothing like the engine in my car. It's kind of frustrating. Anybody out there have suggestions or sources of info, online, or where ever that might help?

i have a 2001 nissan altima and i would like to upgrade my cars audio. i dont want to put subs in it but I would like to upgrade my speakers and put some bass into the speakers through a amplifier. I was wondering can I connect an 4-channel amp with 4 after market speakers? i know the watt on the amp has to be lower than the total watt on the speakers. any advice on the best brands out there for an amp and car speakers? how much will it cost? any comments....thanks

This is not a smiple u-joint because all my u-joints are fine. The clunk occurs when i put it in first gear(std.) and slightly pop the clutch. I got underneeth the trunk and when i turn the driveshaft i can hear it making a noise in the the transfer case, i can turn the driveshaft about 25 degrees before the wheels start turning. What could be the problem. My idea was either that the rear end spider gears have worn or its something to do with the transfer case or clutch.

Hi, I hear that 2001 Goldwings have a built in intercom system, but do not really know what I would need to buy to enable it. I know there are mics and speakers, but are these built into helmets or can you get them separate? My mom just bought my dad really nice Shoei helmets last year, so would this mean she'd have to buy different ones to get the intercom to work, or is there something that can just be placed inside the existing helmets? I heard on the radio this morning that some of the luxury SUVs are offering the internet as a standard package. With that said...what do you think of this? I would be worried about more wrecks and things on the roadways, and one of the DJs said that he would be worried about possible road rage if someone got a bad email.
