The engine I'm not worried about. I plan on dropping in a 350 with some current modifications. I'm concerned about body parts. Metal panels and thing such as window cranks and whatever. Are they still readily available? Am I going to have to scour junk yards and Ebay or is there a company who makes new OEM parts?

I have a Subaru Legacy '02 (wagon) it has 47000 mileage on it, my local Dealr sent me a mail that it has pass the time for me to do tune up on it, he estimate the cost to be &500, which i cant afford at the moment, my brother in laww is a car freak , he just offer to help me change the plugs, filter etc and then go to the dealership for oild and fluid change,
i am am not sure what do , i dont know much about cars.
i need help, please be nice with your answers.
also what do mechanics do to a car when they perfrom Tune ups.

I have read problems about 05 Altima owners being dissatistifed with their altimas due to struts, reliability, etc. Is this why so many 05 Altimas are available at dealers right now? Do most of them secretly suffer from these problems, but the dealers are trying to get rid of them? Thanks (specifically with the auto 3.5 SE)

We were at a horse riding event this weekend. Next to me was parked a '96 Discovery with a double horse trailer, same as my outfit. Driver a youngish slim fella (no dizzy blondes etc!). Car is sitting with front wheels slowly turning, and standing still. "Try putting the diff lock on" I called to him. "The what? I've put it into 4 wheel drive, but no use. I'm stuck". I replied "But it's full time 4 wheel drive. The diff lock is used by moving the little gear stick to the left". "No, he argued, that's for switching between 2 and 4 wheel drive".
Needless to say, I engaged high range, diff lock on and pulled away with no probs. Now THAT is what annoys me about 4X4 drivers!!

We knew it was leaking something from the engine. I had taken it to 3 other mechanics and they all said they couldn't find the source but that he would probably need a new engine in 2-3yrs. That was 1.5yrs. This mechanic said it needs half shaft work, because the boots are torn and hydrolic fluid is leaking and he could loose his streering. Are we safe until he hear noises from turning the steering wheel or should I start looking for a new car? They also said he needs new struts,shocks, upper&lower pan gasket work and two screws holding the skid plate.I"m a mom just trying to figure this out.

I am $1,000.00 in debt from car repairs, and my old car is constantly breaking down. Should I let my debt keep me from selling my 1994 Olds and making high monthly payments on a brand-new or one-year-old car? I can't keep taking two days a week off work every time I break down. Yes, I do have vacation days to take but would rather take them off for rest and relaxation instead of constant breakdowns and tows. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I can't afford to keep paying for repairs, and I can't afford a new car. But, I need to get to work every day which is about a half-hour drive. Since I love both my house and job job, I don't want to change either one of those. Thanks for any advice!

How do you change the headlights on a Beetle?
My dad is very good with cars, and do basically anything to a car... but just cannot figure out how to get the headlight lens out to change the bulb?

I live in N. Florida and we live deep in the back country--all of the roads are sand and if you don't have good -GOOD back mud tires, you won't be going to many places like town. I have tryed and tryed to bring up mud tires so I could see which would be the best for my truck Ford F150. But I can't find a page where I can look at many at the same time! Please help me find a page where I can see more than 3-4 at the same time. Thank you
