In order to change a bulb or replace the headlight the complete headlight unit must be removed. This is done by sliding the retainer up after releasing the lock on it. The release lever islocated on the side of the headlight assy toward the rear just below the edge of the fender where the hood sits on it. The little square belide the lever that has a crosshatch desgn on it is the lock and must be carefully pushed in. The retainer mechanism is prone to get debris in it and be hare to move. after releasing the assy it must be pulled out of the fender but do not pull on the lens as it will come off and then would have to be replaced.

VW would not replace lots in factors that don't desire changing. So i'll assume fusebox is the comparable. Fuse one million,2,3,4 are head lights one million,2 are severe(or low beam) and the different 2 are the different. If the fuses are solid, perhaps the headlight blew out. There are 2 filaments in each and every headlight(one is for best beam and one is for Low beam) It happens. Fuses blow while there's a short. additionally too, it may be that the headlamp switcher is grimy(greasy) and capability is unlikely by way of oil and grease. Flick a pair of cases severe-Low, severe-Low and particularly situations that clears out corrosion interior the swap itself or removes sufficient of the oil to make a solid connection. That or hook as much as a distinctive twin beam headlight and in simple terms carry the headlight at a similar time as your helper(they seem while i desire long palms) as i can't attain the two the guidance wheel swap and the headlight on the comparable time cradle the trial twin beam headlamp. this is from a Chevy because of the fact the plug ins are the comparable i think of. All you desire to be conscious of is do I have been given Low and do I have been given severe. then you be conscious of whether to fault the headlamps themselves....because of the fact the area that has have been given to get replaced.

About 15 years ago, they came up with composit headlite lenes and the headlamps were changed from behind. the bulb numbers were 9004 to 9007, your owners manual will list your replacement headlamp number and go buy one, this will help you understand how it is replaced. don`t touch the glass. the manual
will also instruct you on how to change the replacement capsul
also bulb in the US. you should have it done in about 10 minutes
reseal the headlite lense if you tampered with it. Its got to be clean and dry inside. your new bulb will even come with an o-ring
to keep it that way

You replace the bulb from the back of the light. It is a sealed assenmbly and you do not take the lens off!
