i can recommend the mazda miata. i am a miata driver myself and my miata is up from the stock 116hp to a proud 240 hp with a flying miata tuning kit. it has a 12 psi turbo with intercooler, turbo exhaust, heavy duty clutch and racing brakes. this turbo tuning kit is street legal in the united states incl. california. here is a link to my miata: http://www.picshosting.de/uploads/46e889d416.jpg

Honda S2000. comes stock with 237 HP. There are mods for it that will take it to over 300 HP reliably and to over 400 HP unreliably. It is great stock and even greater when tuned. All this in a 2.2 L engine. WOW.
