WIth companies now making hotrods out of the Morris Minors with the Rover and other engines, I thought this would be another alternative. It is the right size physically it seems. Any opinions?

Having worked for mazda 7 years in the past. I think it would be a hoot! To see a Morris Minor doing burn outs! Make sure you get a rear axle that will handle the power. The old Laycock and stock drive shaft won't stand the power. Then there's the problem stopping it! The rx-7 engine is lighter so rework the front springs. Get a whole RX-7 to transfer parts from early generation one cars will have the axle and transmission you will need and are carburated.

If a Rover v8 fits than so would a Ford 5.8,and so would a Buick 3.8 v6 Grand National turbo engine...the Buick can put out 400 hp with a stock block and heads

to be honest, a rx7 is a powerfull engine...and the body of the rx7 reflects this..if you modify that to go into a mnorris minor you will have to make a lot of modifactions to make it a) fit in the car and b) safe to drive...if i was you id go for somthing more simple to start off with and make adjustmants along the way...like a porshe engine in a VW beetle..they seem to work pretty well
