I know this is not what you want to hear... Depends on the brake job requires. If it's standard job about 145.00.(both) If they have to replace rotors then add 100.00 to the total.
PLease done't go to the dealer for the repair they will
charge you about 250..00 for brakes and oil change
Sorry I did originally see the question for tune up that brings the total to 250.00. All of them are very easy to do

It varies completely by where you go. I would take it to a Ford or Mazda dealer (since it is made by Mazda). They won't do anything that is a waste however they will know what needs done. Don't take it to some little crap place because they are cheaper. Actually though, check your maintenance schedule because 40k sounds really low for a tune-up.

Tune up 80-100
Brake Job- 160 if just pads and turning of rotors. figure another 160 to 200 if rotors are needed.
Oil Change- free--ask him to throw it in with a free tire rotation to boot
You are spending considerable cash so they can do that for you

Depends on where you live I suppose, but here in Kentucky where my husband owns a garage it would probably run about 225.00 give or take. DON't go to a dealer...they are the most expensive.
