My Taurus would not start. There was power on all the time but engine starter would not engage. I replaced the ignition lock/tumbler. (Where the key fits) it now starts but will not shut off. Power is still on all the time no matter what position the key is in. I think there must be a ground gone. Anyone know where to look?

I drive a diesel at work and I've seen gasoline engines warm up completely in 10-15 minutes. Our diesels, while being driven, not idling, take 30-45 minutes to warm up. Why does it take so long? They are Mercedes 5 cylinder engines.

I keep finding a pool of water in the boot under the spare tyre. Can't seem to find where it's getting in. No sign of it running down from anywhere.

Okay, I have a 2001 Citroen Xsara and the warning light indicates the ABS is not working. However, the brakes are still working okay, but it does mean that the car can lock up (like many other cars on the road without ABS). Can the car still get through the UK MOT with this warning light on? If not, why not?

I've just heard about the GM Flexfuel program that uses E85- 85% corn (uhh....) and 15% gasoline. Where is it possible to purchase one of these? I would want a Chevrolet Avalanche or Tahoe that runs on Flexfuel. One of my relatives would like it.

My girlfriend was driving her car one day, I was in the passenger seat, when all of the sudden it just turned off. It would not start again. I thought I smelled gas for a minute or so. We pushed the car to the side of the road and it just wouldn't start. She had it towed home. She took it to the shop and they said there was something wrong with the PCM cause their computer could not get a reading, but other opinions suggest that they did not have the proper equiptment to daignose. She had someone else tell her the it could be the fuel pump. So it was towed again to go have the fuel pump replaced. It still didn't start. This is about 650 dollars later and we still don't know what's wrong. I am desparate to know what is wrong. The starter turns like normal but the engine just will not start. The fuel will not get to the motor, no pressure in the lines, the lines are clear. The fuses are good, the filter has been changed twice. What could be wrong?

I just got a car cover for my 1999 Corvette Convertible, and was wondering about using in when parked outside. I just read in popular mechanics that covers are bad in the rain, and when it is windy. has anyone ever had a car cover damage the paint when used? I want to protect the interior and the convertible top, but not at the expense of damaging the paint.

I took my car into the dealership to have it repaired on (not warranty work) on 11/15/2005. I got a call about 1 month later telling me that my car has been repaired and I could come pick it up. I paid $770.00 for a new throttle body (this is what coded as bad). My wife followed me home that day and I drove about 25 miles and the car went back to it's original problems, so I drove back to the dealership and explained that they missed the problem and gave them the car back. Well, here I am a year later and no car. I wasn't real worried about driving it at the time since I was driving a smaller car back a forth to work that got better MPG. I keep hearing the same old stuff "they are still working on it, just a little more time needed, they have been too busy, they don't have a bay to put it in, were trying to save you money, etc, etc.......I am just wondering what my options are, anyone got any advise?

Thanks.

I've heard that it's more fun to drive a 'slow' (i.e. the Ninja 250) bike fast than a fast bike slow. I've read that the Ninja 250's astronomical redline and light weight make it a blast to sprint around in. Is it only a good starter bike, or can it be a keeper?

I am interested in buying a certified used car--like at Carmax. Well, I was looking at how high insurance would be because we would have to make payments versus the pennies we pay now because our car is paid for. I am considering taking out a personal loan and paying cash for the car flat out. I think that this will eliminate high insurance and I can pay the loan off as if I did have a note anyways. The bonus is also that the loan has a lower interest rate and I won't have to worry about the car getting repossessed. The car I want costs less than $9,000 and is a certified used car (it's been checked out, etc). What do you think?
