I had similar problems with my Sonata. The remote key eventually stopped working. I bought a new remote key system and that didnt work. The problem was that it had to be reprogrammed. Apparently when you change the battery you also have to have it reprogrammed. I towed my car to a car place I think it was Car Toys and they were able to reprogram it and then it worked. Hope that helps.
