I took my car into the dealership to have it repaired on (not warranty work) on 11/15/2005. I got a call about 1 month later telling me that my car has been repaired and I could come pick it up. I paid $770.00 for a new throttle body (this is what coded as bad). My wife followed me home that day and I drove about 25 miles and the car went back to it's original problems, so I drove back to the dealership and explained that they missed the problem and gave them the car back. Well, here I am a year later and no car. I wasn't real worried about driving it at the time since I was driving a smaller car back a forth to work that got better MPG. I keep hearing the same old stuff "they are still working on it, just a little more time needed, they have been too busy, they don't have a bay to put it in, were trying to save you money, etc, etc.......I am just wondering what my options are, anyone got any advise?
Thanks.

I would call the general manager of the dealership. If he won't help, call the regional office of GM or Ford or whoever it is that has your car. That's nuts. Then I'd call all the TV stations until I found one that would like to run the story.

In California it would be time, actually long long past time, for the Bureau of Automotive Repair to tear them a new one.
They are a dealership? Time to talk to the factory rep or to write to the company directly. A year? They could have an apprentice build the whole thing from parts in a year.
They are never too busy to fix something for a customer who owes them money are they? But this issue has their name on it.
Time for them to feel some pain, offer to talk to the local tv about doing one of those amusing little pieces "Fred took his Passat to McNevin VW in 2005 and they've still got it" which dealerships hate.
I'd be turning up there each day, while customers are coming in to pay their bill, and discussing the issue as loudly as possible, and we wouldn't be going in to an office with the door closed to do it.
(McNevin VW were excellent, but they closed earlier this year when the owner retired).

In a situation like this, you are the primary controler of what happens. If you are complacent, the dealer will string you along forever. Take control of your vehicle and your destiny. You may need to contact the general manager of the business and discuss options, such as legal and negative advertisement. Point out the "loss of use" has cost you money, and NO repair should take longer than one month. TAKE CONTROL!!!

A year is beyond rediculous. Go there and ask to physically see your car. Talk to the owners of dealership! and report them to the BBB.
After a year I'd be making car replacement demands!

They didn't fix your proplem in the first place....you should have got the $770 back since it was thier mistake in the first place. You should of been first in line to get your car repaired....nothing takes this long unless your rebuilding it yourself. I would take the car, not pay a dime, report them to the BBB and find a new repair shop....period.

First I would report them to the Better Business Buriou...(BBB)
Then I would call everyday & ask how my car was.
Other than that, take your car somewhere else! I wouldn't trust those idiots after a year!

Yes I can help.
Find out in the yellow pages where the bureau of automotive repair is at.Go down and fill out a complaint form. They will take it from there. They can close down that shop and fine them $25.000 for doing that to you. They can also get you some money for being without your car.I did it and got $5.000.for my trouble they caused me.
