I'm getting new brake pads put on my car, which is a 98 mustang gt and theyre trying to charge me almost $250, just for the rear brakes, theyre claiming that part of the reason its so expensive is, the "recomended" ceramic pads. Now, I know very little about cars, do I really need these expensive pads?

Last wednesday I was about ready to back out of my car until this truck can so I pulled back into my packing spot. There were people across the street watching me and the car that was next to me was parked close. So I pulled out again but it wasn't enough and I tap the car next to me on the front end. I didn't know what to do so I panic and I left. I found out later that you are supposed to leave your phone number and name. The people across from me either told the people the car I hit or they call the cops themself. The next day the cops came to my house and since I was working they left me a business card about the accident last night. The same day I called and left a message. I still didn't get a call and I'm wondering what I should do. I'm not sure if it somebody from my church or somebody else. If you were in the same situation what would you do if you didn't know how car it is and the cop never call you back. Tomorrow is wednesday and I have to go to my church.

There is a light on the dashboard which comes on periodically, it is in the shape of a car with a little spanner superimposed on it, I thought it was the 'service due' light but it has not long had a service and has only done 38000 miles, it comes on and goes off every now and again, also the exhaust has started smoking a bit, could the two be linked?

I have a Nissan 1995 Pathfinder I just bought a week ago and it has those heated seats on the driver and passenger side. THe drivers side works but now the passenger side doesnt! Now when my hubby drives the car he gets a nice warm butt and i freeze, im always cold so this seat thing was a godsend. What is wrong with it and how do I fix it?

The lien release dept of the finance company who financed his purchase of this car originally says they are overnighting the title release to him tonight. So he'll have that in the morning and can get the title to me tomorrow afternoon. As long as I have a signed sales agreement and a reciept for the money paid, can I go ahead and by the car? It's really a good deal and I'm afraid if I don't go for it, I'll miss out on it.

i have a ford ka 2003 1.3 duratec engine,its done 15000 miles.as i go up through the gears,i can feel a slight hesitation.some days it will hesitate more than others although its not appearing to cause a major problem with fuel economy and driving.ive had it put on a diagnostic machine but no fault was found.the spark plugs have been changed,redex put in the petrol and a new ignition pack put in,all leads and wiring has been checked,i have no air leaks but i still have this irritating problem,can anyone tell me what they think it might be as nobody seems to have any idea,not even my mechanic who has been doing my cars for years,thanks.

When picking my daughter up from playgroup, I noticed that nearly all the mothers were driving 4x4's.

It's been often implied that men who drive ferraris/porsches are compensating for a lack of size in the trouser department. (I drive a corsa, by the way) Do you think women are doing the same when they buy 4x4's? Perhaps they have empowerment issues and want to wrap themselves in a big strong car? What are your thoughts?
