it would be more cost effective to just sell your auto and buy a 5sp, or trade. but, if you're deadset on doing it, it can be done. it will not be cheap, it will not be easy, and it certainly will not be fun.

Anything is possible given enough money and time.
It will take many thousands of dollars, and a fully functional garage w/ at least two experienced mechanics working on it for probably 2 days minimum.
I believe you'd have to take your engine out b/c the tranny attachment is different for auto vs. manual. Just save up and sell it then buy a manual.

Best way is to go to salvage yard and buy a whole junk impreza with a 5 spd that way you will have everything you need.The engine is the same bolt pattern for mounting and it does not have to come out.Its not easy to do.I believe you have to change the rear end also because the 5 spd and auto have different gear ratios.

If you want more power out of your Automatic get a torque converter, it will run like a manual tranny and will put more horsepower to the wheels.
