It is based on age, weight, & height with no clarity on priority. Is a police officer going to take the child out of the car and measure it's height and then weigh it, it is typical of resent changes to laws unenforcible,

In principle it is a good idea, although not many six and seven year olds are goning to be happy having to go back into a car seat if they are under the height limit like my neice! It is all about being sensible and surely no responsible parent would fail to strap their child in when in the car. I know that some idiots don't bother but I am not sure that the introduction of a new law will change that as they are breaking the law already! Of course then there is the question of taxis, buses etc

Which law is that? I like the child seat law because it protects our children. If you're referring to the booster seat law I'm all for it. I have seen a child thrown out of a car window in a collision.

i think any law that protects children in cars is great. they need it cars were not built with kids in mind because if they did then you would have to get a new car as you kid gets bigger. the safey seats are not that expencive and most of the time the can be converted as the kid grows.

Wasn't aware of any new laws on the books. I do think it's a shame you have to mandate how to protect children. Parents should do it automatically. I see 2 year old children running loose in vehicles all the time.

Well, you'd think responsible parents would already take steps to ensure the safety of their children - but the world is full of idiots so the Government has to pass annoying laws to make sure the irresponsible parents don't endanger their kids.
So what is there to complain about?
