My husband and I will be looking to buy a home around Jan. 2008. However, we have a really high car payment that we would like to ditch first so we can afford a mortgage. My question is should we hold on to our higher car payment and have a longer payment history but with high debt to income ratio (our credit isn't that great) or should we get a lower car payment for a lower debt to income but short payment history?

(stepmom) charged you 2 times on your credit card for one service. I went to her semenar and was charged $75 and then a quick $70 after that. I saw her make 2 quick swipes. I asked her as the receipts came out if she charged me twice and she said she didn't. About 2 months later I saw it on the statement that she did charge me twice. I called her and left a message on her voicemail. That was 3 days ago. I called the credit card company and they said that I have to make contact with the merchant, which I did.
My former Stepmom says that she donates everything she gets to homeless shelters for battered women. Lame?
She also had us play this money game during the semenar. I didn't have any money to give to the pot but there was one girl that gave $20 and another that gave $5. It was undecided and the last one to break the chain of votes was my SM. I won because my SM voted for me. But she gave me only $5 in front of everyone. Is this a Judge Judy case or what?

I used to work for wal-mart as an assistant manager, and I just recently received a check in the mail for nearly $700, as part of a settlement they are saying was due to me being underpaid. Now I know there were issues in the past about this, but I have heard nothing recently about Wal-Mart owing anyone any money for working. My wife works for a bank and says the check looks like a fraudelent one, where they send you a check, you spend the money, then owe the bank whatever the amount was simply because the check was bad. I went to the site provided by the company that sent the check, and this is what I get http://www.dol.settlement.wal-mart.com/ . Looks more to me like an easy way to steal my identity. What's your opinions/thoughts?

I am about $5,000 in debt (NONE OF WHICH IS FROM A CREDIT CARD...I'VE NEVER HAD ONE) and my credit score is a lot lower than I would like it to be. Most of my balance is either medical or utility.

If I pay a $100 balance with a doctors office how much will it raise my score? Or in general if I pay anything off on my credit report how much does it raise the score?

My girlfriend has 3-4 things onher credit report that are from hospitals/doctors. At the time of the billing she WAS covered with insurance but didn't physically have her insurance card available. She gave them the information in order to have it billed. We recently got a letter from the insurance company stateing that she did in fact have insurance at the time. My question is what is our next step? Do we write the credit bearues in dispute or the collection accounts or hospital..how do we get this cleared? Thanxs in advance

I co-signed to help a friend purchase a motorcycle. He is still paying it off but has made a few late payments (over 30 days) and this is displayed negatively on my credit report. Can I get these accounts removed or is that part of what I signed my life away for when I co-signed to be a guarunter (sp.)?

I often pay my credit card mulitple times during the month instead of making one big payment when the bill is due. If there is a balance due for the statement, I always pay it on time. I was just wondering if there's any negative aspect to paying my credit card multiple times during the billing cycle? Thank you.

We have some emergency expenses that need to be handled in the next couple of weeks that our outside of our normal budget. We don't have any credit cards, and we're trying to avoid any major credit commitments since we will be closing on a new house next month. Also, we don't have perfect credit. It's not awful but not great either. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

balance off and the money cleared you bank accout? I made an electronic payment for balance in full on my account 10 days ago. The money cleared out of my checking account 2 days after the payment was made, and the bank has a hold on my account for some reason that no one can explain to me why.(It is a well known larger bank) I have never been late in the 2 years I have had the card, no problems what so ever. Can they hold my account like this? If not what can I do about it?This has never happened before, and all the reps can tell me is that there is just a hold on it and there is nothing they can do.

I have been turned over to ASG and through some research, saw that sometimes certain agencies will take full payment and agree to remove the account from all 3 major credit reporters. I originally offered them $700 out of $1100, and they said sure, if I could pay by the next day. I could not. I know it is possible to negotiate, but has anyone had any real luck or advice?

Hi,

If I get a Chase freedom credit card, $0 annual fee, and I pay the credit bill in full each month, do I never pay one cent more than I actually spend, regardless of APRs?

Thanks.

On my credit report, I have a car repossession that is close to it's statue of limitations. I disputed the debt and the debt is currently showing, "closed, transferred to another lender" on my credit report with a zero balance. What does this mean?
