I had bought a car at a dealership through an in-house finance program and have about a year and half left paying it off, If I decided not to keep the car and let them have it, will this show up on my credit? I know through this program, me buying this car doesn't show up, but I wasn't sure sending it back will.

I guess it says that I have an account in collections. I called the collection agency and asked them and they told me it was a PG&E bill from 12/01. I recall paying it all off before I left. I don't have any record of it since I save everything for only 5 years. When I look at my credit report I don't have bad credit. Should I still pay it off? I heard if I do it will make my credit worse, is that true?

HELP! Does anyone know the proper steps I should take? I have ecellent credit. Always pay my bills.
I recieved a letter from a collection agency, claiming that I owe 1065.00 on a phone account from NYC more than 10 yrs ago! I certainly didnt leave any outstanding bills, and I even had phone service in NYC for a year after this address. Since then I have always forewarded my addresses.
Isa person requiredto keep proof of payment on an account for phone service for 10 plus years! Particularly if I havent received any notices through out the last decade indicating that I needed to proove that I had paid it.
Does anyone know my rights in this matter? Or how I should proceed to avoid a blemish on my good credit rating? I don't intend to pay them, and I cant proove after 10 years, that I did.
It could be fraud? Or it could just be a company taking advantage of people based on the likelyhood that no one keeps a receipt for 10 yrs.

I just got a collections notice in the mail for a telephone bill I may or may not have had in 1993! At the very least, I shared that number with a roommate. WTF?!!! Could not have come at a worse time. Can I ignore this or dispute this, or will it adversely affect my credit?

At the end of the process I have credited inventory and debited accounts payable. All of the other debits and credits are a wash. Shouldn't i have an account that tells our total claims amount. Wouldn't this be an asset account?

Ive not received a bill for the last 10/11 months. The reason for this is because the energy co. seem to think I have a pre-payment meter. I used to have one about a year ago...got a credit meter.....paid the 1st two quarterly bills then havnt heard anything from them since. I called the co. and they told me I couldnt view my bills online since I have a prepayment meter. (this is how I know they thing I have a prepayment meter).
Another thing is that the meter reading man hasnt been by for the last 10 months either. I think when he does eventually take a meter reading the penny will drop. Shall I call the co. up and explain that I've got a credit meter?
I'm afraid of being landed with a huge bill otherwise. However it is nice not to pay either : )
Basically my is question is this:
Will I have to repay for the electricity I have used recently, if the power company made this mistake?

I live in Texas which is a community property state. I have good credit, but my husband has horrible credit. Because of this I have made sure that all of our credit/loan accounts are in our individual names. The only thing that is in both of our names is the house note, but that is about to be in my name solely. What would happen if we divorced? How would that affect my credit? Does divorce show up on your credit report and if so does it show up as a negative thing?

I got an offer in the mail for a $10,000 credit limit visa card in the mail yesterday, stating that all I had to do was send them $37 and they would send it out. Is this legit? And do they really give you that much of a limit?
