I had my car repo'd in nov 06. The settlement was way too much for me to come up with along with the payment plan. They decided to take it to court now for 9500 bucks. I would rather have them take it out of my paycheck then my joint bank account. Is that possible?? Would they go after my wages before my checking account?

I live in CA

I have been trying to help my friend get some form of credit. She's 23 and has no credit as of yet. We've tried having her apply to a gas card, her primary bank's credit card and now we've sent in an application for a retail credit card.
I'm wondering, since she has no credit yet, can she get a negative score? Will these failed appempts to gain a credit source cause marks against her?
If this application is denied... what advice can you give to help her attain credit?

Cheers!!

I would like to know how it is that credit bureaus take away your right as a consumer to bargain, by penalizing you for doing so and lowering your scores. Also, just how much does it hurt your credit rating if you do mortgage inquiries.

I've been offered a new job in finance. However, the position is pentending my credit and background check. I once got fired from a job, but it was done for unlawful reasons. But, I never pursued legal action. Will that effect my chances at getting the job.

Secondly, I have poor credit. I don't believe I even have the ability to get a credit card, although I haven't tried. I do have a car payment that is up to date and in good standing.

How bad does you credit have to be, in order to be denied a job?

My credit is between 580 and 602 but I have no open debt. I keep getting turned down because I don't have any revolving accounts. I can't afford to pay for a secured card. I only want a credit card to build my credit back up. Please only honest answers, no smart asses.

My husband has $20,000 in debt in occurred before we got together.12,000 of it is past due things he has stopped paying on, the other $8,000 is his car. I want to sale the car and get a junker for $1,000 or so. Then get a personal loan under my name because I have good credit and pay off the $12,000. We will take the money we would normally use on his car insurance (a junker will be a lot cheaper) and car payment towards the new loan. Is this the best way to go about it? Any advise?

My score went way down (730 to 650) because of a 30 dollar bill I didn't even know I had. I saw it on my report, and payed it, but I was told it will be on your record for 8-10 years. But, I was also told, in the meantime, as that transaction gets older, my score will go up. When, or how often, will they notice it getting older, and rescore me?

It's been 1.5 years and it's still low?

I am in California and just made my first purchase using PayPal. Is there a company named PayPal? Where are they located and how do they get paid for their service? I put it on my Credit Card, they pay the person I am buying the item from and they charge my CC. But how do they make money? Am I charged a service charge? Or what? Thanks for your help.

Does it matter that I rarely use my credit card if I want to ask for a $1000.00 increase to my limit?
The reason I want to raise it is because I want to start charging my college tuition to my card instead of paying in cash every time. Of course I'll pay off my credit card bill right away, but I was wondering if they may decline me an increase because I currently rarely use my credit card.
