I don't really understand your question about the money in your bank account. But PayPal is safe and secure. You aren't sharing your banking information with anyone except the secure website itself. (The person you're buying from won't even know the name of your bank ) I've used it for years with no problem. Take your time and CAREFULLY read all the information on the PayPal site. It tells you everything you need to know, including where to find a routing number on your check.

Paypal is safe, and its used under a secure site, just always make sure that when you go to paypal you personally type in the web address www.paypal.com, don't click on it off an email or anything else and log in that way. That is a huge safety precaution and the best way to feel that your transaction is secure.
I have used paypal for 10 years and have never had a problem, or worried about safety. It is the only way I buy or sell anything off of ebay.
No all of your money from your bank will not be in your paypal account. The only money that will be in your paypal account is the money that you transferred out of your checking account to put there or if you win an auction and pay with paypal and do not have the funds available in paypal, they will use your back up funding account to take out only what you need to cover the cost of your win.
The routing number can only be found on your check, normally it is the nine digits on the lower left hand corner of your check. There will be 3 series of numbers on the bottom of your check, your account number, and the check number. They are normally in that order, but you will not find it on your card.
Also check the paypal website they explain in a lot more details~

paypal is the BEST way to do any kind of money transaction online. Basically ebay will take the money (say youre buying a purse for $25) out of your account and pay the buyer. its VERY safe, because if you send..say a check or money order, the buyer can say "oh well, i never got the check" and youre out of $25 and didnt get your purse.

Your routing number can be found at the bottom of your check all the way to the left its before your account number. If you dont have your checks on you, just call your bank. (you dont necessarily need to call the EXACT bank you go to either, for example i have Wachovia, and the routing number in Kunkletown Pa is the same as the routing number in Reading Pa and they are 2 hours apart).

Happy Buying!

I would like to suggest that if you use paypal to insure the safety of your money in your bank account that you open a separate account and only keep a minimum amount of funds in there and then just enough to cover your purchases online. Preferably with a bank that you can access online to transfer funds.

So far I have never had any troubles with the money going out of my paypal account, but if you sell things and use paypal for deposits and the item is in question from buyer then they will place a hold on your funds until the dispute is over, sometimes for 6 months or longer. So be aware of this.

PayPal is kind of like an escrow service. You move money in and out of payyapl like you would a checking/savings account and use that money to buy things.

you do not have to use your checking account #, i've only used credit cards, my atm/check/visa card is also linked to my paypal. i think it is safe, but to be honest i decided not to have my checking account info ...routing/account #...floating around paypal.
