I WANT TO GET RID OF THIS CREDIT CARD I'VE HAD FOR A WHILE NOW. IT WAS MY FIRST. MY CREDIT LIMIT IS LIKE $300. (NOT CLOSE TO ENOUGH FOR AIRLINE TICKETS) I REQUESTED A CREDIT LINE INCREASE BUT WAS DENIED. WHILE OTHER CARD ARE AT A MIN. OF $2,500. HOW CAN I GET RID OF IT WITHOUT HURTING MY CREDIT SCORE. AND KEEPING IT OPEN WOULD EFFECT MY POTIENTIAL DEBT TO INCOME RATIO, CORRECT? IT HAS NO BALANCE.

I got a credit card about 6 months ago with a limit of just $800. It's a student credit card. Can I call the credit card company and ask for a higher credit limit? I've heard you can ask for a lower interest rate and sometimes they'll give it to you, but is the same true for a higher credit limit?

Thanks in advance.

I am trying to build my credit history.Being on a high limit old credit card account with no balance as a joint account holder will affect my credit history more positively than being an authorized user? Or there is no difference? Some say that being joint account holder will affect more as it will show in my credit report that I am responsible for the credit card payments.
Thanks

hi,
i'm looking to purchase an '07 Yaris Hatchback, but the rate I was offered by Toyota Finance is 14%. is this a reasonable rate for a credit score of 630?
i know that i could try capital one, etc. but i dont want to mark my credit down even more by applying to all these loans.
fyi, the last time i bought a car from Toyota they gave me 4.9% financing, but they said that was because of their special Low APR incentive.
If anyone has similar credit and got good APR on their auto loans, I would appreciate any feedback.
Also, if you have purchased a Yaris recently, what was your APR and credit score?

Thank you in advance!

I live in California, the company is in Illinois. I sent them a payment on may 16th, the bill was due on may 17th, they credited my account on may 18th. I was given a late charge because they state that the payment arrived late. It is my belief that according to California law, if a payment is post marked on or before the date the item is due, the item is considered paid upon that date. And because the company does business in California, I also believe that they would be subject to this law. The company is a financial services institution but not a bank. The name of the company is Unicorn Financial who deal with the financing of Dental and Optical services and they solicit through the offices where these services are preformed. This was my final payment. Am I correct?

I was in the hospital, unable to pay anything and my creditor reported me to the agencies. I disputed it but they said "the creditor verified the information to be correct." What do I do? I was in the hospital unable to pay anybody. BTW this is the only late payment I had in 20 years. The report says it is potentially negative.

My daughter has an issue with Capital One and their credit reporting practices. She has paid all of her bills on time for the past 5 years, but a Capital One CC closed in 2002 drags down her score because it is reported with new amounts every few months when interest is added, even though it's reported as a charge off. This makes it appear that she is more than 60-90 days days late even though the last activity was in 6/02. Her CC balance was $250 when it was closed and is now reported as $1,400 due to interest! How can she get this reported correctly instead of it being reported as a more recent debt? I am aware that adverse information remains on your credit report for 7 years from the date of last activity, but they seem to be restarting the clock continually, this can't right. The account was recently sold to a third party who is not yet reporting it.

I think I have 'pissed off' someone at my credit card issuer. Every time I try to use my card it gets declined. My balance is not where near my credit limit. I have not been late on a payment for the last four years.

Does this constitute an adverse action as defined by Regulation B.

I make about 60k a year but am self employed and have been self employed for only 12 months. I think I need to have my business for 2 years or more but am not sure. Prior to that, I did work for at least 2 years at the same company. Does that count/matter? The loan amount would be less than 60k but I want it at 100%. Credit is below average. 550-580. What can I expect? Don't care about the interest rate.

I'm 22 and I need to take out a loan but I don't have any collateral for the bank. I want the loan so I can pay off my motorcycle ($9,000) and get the title so I can sell it for $7,000 which means I personaly would only be paying $3,000 back to the bank. Is this a good idea or is it even possible

I realized I left the first deposit slip, all filled out with my account number, name and address, on th ebank counter. What if someone found it (I mean some customer)... can they take my money with that info? (name, address, account number) SHOULD I RUSH BACK TO SEE IF THEY CLEANED THE COUNTER UP? The bank closes today at 1 pm, do you think they clean up before re-opening monday? Am I totally risking identify theft or money theft in these couple of hours remaining before they close???
