I was reading the Suze Orman book when I came upon authorized users. Now according to her book, if you are an authorized user on a credit card you are not liable for the primary users debt. Also, the primary person may call the creditor and have the authorized user taken off of the account.

Is this true? I was an authorized user for one of my friends a couple of years back and she was very delinquent on them. Eventually she paid them off but it brought my FICO score down. I had her take me off the accounts (because of what I read) Now... will these accounts be taken out of my credit report? Will my FICO score go up?

Please help!!! I am clueless!!! I want to buy a home in the next year and I'm trying to build my score and get rid of anything negative on my credit score!

Thanks so much in advance.

I am not a US citizen; I am a civil engineer from abroad; I have a green card since end of 2005; Accepted my first position in the US last january 2006 with 45K salary. Presently I am in a 60K position. I have a bank account in the US since 2003 and 2 saving accounts since 2006 (totalling more than 15K). My real question is: how can I have a sufficient credit history if all my credit card applications (even from SEARS) are denied for that lack of sufficient credit history?

I would like to apply (and hopefully get approved) for a credit card so I can start to build my credit. The problem is that I am sixteen.

Is there a way that I can get a legal credit card for someone that is underage.

I want a credit card that I can charge small amounts to the card and pay back to build up my credit.

I do not know if this is possible but that is why I am asking.

Please include as much info/websites as you can in your answers.

I recently have been doing homework as to how to restore my credit. I payed off about 5 different medical bills that went into collections, that totalled roughly $800.00. I payed them off March 2006. I recently found out that I should have negoitated with the collection agency that I would make the payment if they took the bad mark off of my credit. I did not know this at the time I made the payment. What can I do now? Can I contact the collection agency again? But say what?

Say you are applying for an account that has an overdraft option of up to £7500. What makes you elegible for the full 7500? And what doesnt? Is it based on your income alone or is there other factors. are overdraft facilitys subject to credit history and scoring or do they just assess it on how much you will be putting into your account each month

If anyone really knows whats thier talking about, i.e works in a bank that would be great thanks

i agree we need the score but u should be able to bring it up faster than however long it takes maybe NOT as fast as it goes down, but they should make it where the score can be used to show you make good on bad too and not just punish you forever for something you screwed up on when you were 18 and yet everything since then has been great. anyone else have gripes against our credit system?
