I recently received a letter from the court requesting that I pay my outstanding credit card debt from a few years ago. A couple of days later, I received a call from a Lawyer demanding that I pay the debt immediatly. I currently don't have the funds to pay the debt in full and have been informed that they will be charging me 9% interest each day on the full balance. Does anybody know what my options are?

Thanks!

I have pretty bad credit from when i was married im trying to build my credit.I have a score of 546 i know kinda crappy but this takes time.I applied for a loan through safenet financial the guy called me last night and said i could get a loan for 5000 that is there lowest they have for 160 a month to pay back for 5 years but its a collateral loan and i have to give them 800 dollars up front that covers my first 5 payments and i dont have a payment for 5 months. That almost sounds like a scam.

if anyone knew about what I should expect to be pre approved for.

Me and Wife make around 110k a year COMBINED. My credit score is around average hers is probably just a little less then mine. But Im sure neither of us have "bad" credit. We have a little credit card debt, nothing horrible , and only 1 car payment.

Can someone give me an estimate of about what we will be approved for?

I have a friend who got into some trouble paying his mortgage when his wife went on unpaid maternity leave. They got behind on their mortgage and ended up going into foreclosure on their house.

They were able to scrape up the money they needed to pay it off, but they are still pretty strapped and 1 month behind on their mortgage.

The question is, they want to sell their house to downsize to a less expensive home that is more affordable, but their credit is basically shot. If they sell their house and try to buy a less expensive one will they be able to get a mortgage with their history?

Please be respectful, this is a genuine question that needs knowledgeable answers. So only reply if you have good advise. Thank you.

Just wondering if anybody else out there has a debt letter from a company called WESCOT CREDIT SERVICES LTD for the amount of 10 pounds for failure to pay for a PAY PER VIEW football game on SETANTA.
I recieved one this morning.....................this is the first thing i have heard about me oweing Setanta money for a game that i watched and supposedly hadn't paid for ( even though you can't watch a game without giving your credit card details).
I phoned Setanta and they said that they have been told to tell people to call an 0905 number so i did and it's a premium rate helpline that goes dead.........called Setanta back and they said thats all the info they can give me.
Anybody out there had the same problem ????

tax credit office has hounded me for three years for a overpayment £3000.00 which I always stated i did not receive
I have had court notices sent 3 times
yesterday they sent me a letter stating there has been a technical error I only received £1629.19 for the whole year so there could not have been a overpayment .
they have offered me a cheque for £50.00 in recognition of the worry & distress that have been caused by their delays in sorting my case
I think they have a bare faced cheek should I take this further

Other than to make herself more money. We consolidated a bunch of debt into a home equity loan. We were quite happy with 15 years. She offered a larger loan to consolidate more funds that dragged the payments out to 30 years with a higher interest rate and it was only 80 less than our combined payments with the 15 year loan.

I think she thought the 80 dollars could help us now and if we move and sell out house, our debts would be paid off anyway and we would have had that 80 a month extra. But that's only in the assumption that (a) we move within 15 years and (b) that we need more money later and refinance.

The difference in interest paid between the 30 year combined loan and the two 15 year loans was 183,000.

So, clearly...she was looking out to make her bank more money?

Money people...shed some light on this for me please?

So,I made a 1-year donation 'contract' with a company. Every month,$20 would be charged to my credit card for 1 year.

Alright,no problem.

But it's been a year and two months... and they're STILL charging me.

Is this illegal? What should I do to stop this? And I know-I'm an idiot. Spare me. <3

Hi my girlfriend has great credit and only uses on credit card never cancels it and mostly pays in cash so she doesnt want any new credit cards or loans due to she owns her own home without a mortgage.

Her question is she is parionoid about idenetity theft. Since she does need more credit cards or loans is it good for her to contact the three agencies about puting a lock on her name so nobody or her can open up any credit cards in her names or loans. I mean she doesnt need any new credit. How does this work? She lives in NY

In the military and have been gone a year, when I returned I ran credit report and found two collection agencies (phone, utilities) from my last move. I payed them both off. My credit score is only 600 and I want to buy a house in next 9-12 months. With this score I'll never get a mortgage.
How fast will your score come up if you take care of the bad things on the report and pay all bills on time or in full?? Person who was watching my affairs did not do a great job.

I own 2 rentals and 1 house. Income is commision about $60,000. I also have about 6 small credit cards totalling about $6000. I want to transfer balances but have been denied. Should I cancel all the cards to elimate the amount of revolving credit? Also, are the rental houses hurting me? Should I get an LLC? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks
