I was told that I didn't have enough money in my checking account by my bank, but before I knew this, I used my card to purchase things. I looked at my statment, and I spent 4 dollars on something, but since I didn't have any money in the account, they charged me 32 dollars for overdraft fees. I think thats ridiculous, and was wondering if theres any way I can get my money back from the overdraft fees? Also, I bought 3 other things that came out to $34.26, but with overdraft, they charged me $96.00.

I had some specialty stuff done at a doctors office back in 2002. I recently tried to contact them and they sent me a statement showing that back in 2004 they wrote off my bill as bad debt. However, they are now wanting me to set up a payment plan. Do I still have to pay the bill and/or can they submit my bill to collections?

I received a check drawn on an authentic bank ( I looked it up) for an amount and it said I was a winner of a sweepstakes and If I cash it I pay my processing fee with this amount and the rest will be sent to me. Does this sound like a fraud?

I used my debit card at the gas station. The gas pump went over 6 cents as I was taking the pump out of the gas tank. This was an error, but I was charged $50 for that error at the gas station.

On several of my accounts with one credit agency my credit limit is showing 0 and my balance is listed as my limit. So basically it looks as though I am totally maxed out on all of these accounts when I am really only using about 20% of the available credit. What should I do?

While my husband and I were in IRAQ we hired "Family Counseling " to pay our bills upon our return we found our that all our accounts were chargedoff. The "Family Counseling Center" we hired payed only the first 3 months and nothing after. We were gone for 19 months so for 16 months nothing was paid. We have tried to locate this company and no luck, the police have told us to move on and count our losses; so did the investigator we hired; the lawyer we've been paying have no good news either. We want to buy a home and and automobile and no luck. For fighting a war this is our payment in return "Damage Credit", we payed $1640 a month to these people. Anyone with any suggestion.

the situation is kind of weird....

my sister first got here in USA and got a SSN in 2004, she first came here as an international student in yale but somehow the VISA was issued to her as yale univ. as her employor.

anyway, an year later she returned to Taiwan and leave all relavent bills etc. for me to follow...she gave me all her information in case some phone calls i need to made for her...she even changed her mailing address to mine.....last year, we rent an apartment while she was here visiting me and we ran her credit report and the score was pretty good around 730 something. the apartment we rent required pretty high credit score and I personally didn't think she'd pass and we were start looking other one but surprisingly, 730!! but I always have a question mark in my mind since I know when I first came to united states, it took me over 3 years to build up my credit but even I didn't have any bad credits at that time, I only scored below 550 since I was considered "NO CREDIT"

My husband just paid off every single debt that was on his credit report, and one of the companies said they refuse to take there report off his credit. Why would that be?
Its done and over with.... how do we get all these things off his credit report now?? It says either closed or charge-off.
There are 3 things that were paid off without missing a payment, we want to keep those on there, but then the ones he just paid off hes never made a payment on before, so they are all KD on every month for about the past 3-4 years......

Help!

Alright I called 1-800 MY APPLE yesterday, hoping to buy a Macbook. I tried using a debit card but it has a limit of $1000. The sales rep said that it would not go through. Twice he tried this. Today I just gave my mom the money and she put it on her credit card. I checked the order status, and it says that there is not one Macbook waiting to ship to my address, but THREE. That is a hell of a lot of money to spend on something I supposedly have not paid for. The one says it was paid for with Discover, and the other two said Wire Transfer. WTF?!?!?!?!

Hey everybody here is my question: I have just been approved for a small business credit card, and i need to spend about $4,000 in office expenses as part of our startup costs. Is it best to pay this in full in the first month?
Or should i pay say $2,000 the first month, $1,000 the 2nd, $500 the 3rd etc etc, so it builds my credit?

A little over 2 years ago I settled with Capital One for the majority of a credit card I got behind on. I received a letter from Capital One stating that the account had been settled. This left an outstanding balance of $9,000.

Now, 2 years later, a collection company is calling me stating that I owe the remaining balance and that if I don't pay by the end of this month, the debt will be sent to Capital One's "Attorney Network" for a judgement.

I thought that if you have settled, you are under no additional obligation. If so, I'm surprised that the remainder was sold to a collector, or that Capital One is using them to get the rest.

I need some advice and experience.

I am in Texas, and as far as I can tell the Statute of Limitations is 4 years.

In 2005 and again just recently, Equifax credit reporting agency verified a judgment debt with a certain courthouse. They told me that if I have any questions to direct any questions to this certain courthouse.
I went to that courthouse and they have no such record!
What should I do now? I think I should sue Equifax, but what if they have some paper that says the debt is in fact at this courthouse?
Thanks for your help.
Also, the judgment debt was satisfied at a different courthouse by the creditor's lawers and when I gave Equifax a cerified copy of this paid debt along with a letter from the creditor, they still kept this negative info in my credit file.
Woe is me!

Hi. A friend has a late Credit card debt, and got a call from what she thought was a collections agency. She specifically asked, and they said they were a collections agency, not affiliated with the bank holding the card. Then they refused to deal in writing, and within a few days renigged on the deal they had offered her, and are threatening litigation. Turns out the company IS affiliated with the bank holding the card. They say she "missed out" on the chance to negotiate.

We are going to fight this. What can we do?

Thanks in advance...
