My parents owe about $13000 on a Discover card, but I'm not sure how old the debt is. Recently an officer from the sheriff's office came by with a letter saying that Discover was suing them. A friend of theirs told them that Discover could take their house. Is this true? Also, how long is the statute of limitations for credit card debt in Alabama? Or, since the credit card was applied for and most of the charges were made in Georgia, would the statute of limitations for Georgia apply? Can they still settle? What other options do they have?

I have a fairly high balance--$16,000 due to graduate school expenses, but I always pay on time and try to pay more than the minimum payment. I make around $45,000 a year. I don't understand why my APR is so high. What can I do to lower it?

I made a very stupid mistake. Someone on Ebay's Half.com frauded me and I filed a Buyer Protection Claim. Out of panic I accidentally contacted my credit card compnay about it too. Their policy is that you don't contact the credit card compnay. Ebay said that if I cancel my claim with my credit card compnay they'll continue on but my credit card company said that if I cancel my dispute the only way i can refile is in writing and there's no guarantee they'll follow up on it. This is the first time something like this has ever happened to me. Should I cancel my dispute with my credit card or go on with it?

I am making my car payment, rent (all utilities paid), I have to have food, and I have no clue what to do. Eventually if I keep not responding to their letters, what will happen???? I don't know what to do. I need to know what to expect if I don't pay.

Wanted to buy 2 CD's. Buy.com had same. Forced to fill out application for credit. Have valid World Wide Master Card. Why am I not permitted to use this? One app. said my date of birth was invalid. 1932 is correct date. Does firm refuse to sell to seniors? Other app. asked for SS#. I gave this reluctantly. Then I was rejected for invalid reply to mo. mtge/rent payment when I truthfully gave 00. I own my home; there is NO mortgage payment.
There is no space on app. form to explain answers noted as "Invalid."

I am partially disabled. I often shop from catalogs by phone or mail. Needless to say, my first foray into shopping on the internet was time-consuming and extremely frustrating.

but if you were me, would you stick a banana in your pocket, pack an old pair of tights in a hold all (essential) and scribble a note saying 'Gimme all the money or I shoot!' to hold up the joint instead.

How many years am I looking at if I get caught?

OR should I spend my hundred pounds on some nice chocolate in Thorntons instead. Possibly the continental section, or those fruity truffle ones.

Hell, maybe even take you out to dinner? I'm thinking somewhere classy, but hey, we only got £130. Don't take the squizz at my expense!

... Have I told you how stunning you're looking today?
Yes, I can see you. I have Windows Vista Webcam MSN spyware. And you have a bit of spinach or oregano stuck between your teeth.

Oh, what a lovely smile...

Cut it out. Stop it.

Stop flashing and put your bits away..

Anyway, original question was about the bank..

I have deep tan, 15 denier pantyhose...

i dont understand why some credit card companies will grant credit lines to people with horrid credit, no job, no bank account. they have to know that in many cases they will take a loss.

I left my job in Dec had no money coming in for a little while the bank decided to up my overdraft limit. Which has now thrown me into debt as I now have a overdraft limit of nearly £1000 i get paid weekly and not one penny touchs my pocket all the money is going to the bank in charges. I can't pay rent or even get too work or buy food because of the fact they decided to do this to me.

Are you not meant to sign something to say that you want the money or make some sort of agreement with the bank?

How can they do this? I want to fight it how can i do this?
