I recently have been doing homework as to how to restore my credit. I payed off about 5 different medical bills that went into collections, that totalled roughly $800.00. I payed them off March 2006. I recently found out that I should have negoitated with the collection agency that I would make the payment if they took the bad mark off of my credit. I did not know this at the time I made the payment. What can I do now? Can I contact the collection agency again? But say what?

You could have negotiated with them but the thing to remember about bill collectors is that ALL BILL COLLECTORS LIE ALL THE TIME. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to collect the money. But they absolutely would NOT have removed the information from your credit report. They can't do so, they just tell you they can.

The good news is that you can do a credit restoration to have the information removed from your report. There are a lot of people out there who will tell you that this cannot be done, but don't believe them. They are just telling you what they heard someone else say. I have actually READ the Fair Credit Reporting Act and know that it is legal and ANY information is elegible to be removed from your report. Even if it is legitimate information. Those who tell you that it can't haven't taken the time to educate themselves. You will alse be told that you can do it yourself. This is true. Of course you can also repair your own car, but you take it to a mechanic. You can represent yourself in court, but you hire a lawyer. You can build your own house, but you hire a contractor. In other words, hire a professional to do it just like you would any other service. But do your DUE DILLIGENCE! There are only THREE credit restoration companies that are recognised as legitimate by the government in the whole United States. There are several THOUSAND people who bought a do-it-yourself kit over the internet and now think they are professional credit restoration specialists because they read a single book and received NO training.

There are very few investments that give you this benefit! The more negative debt we get removed or changed, the higher your credit scores go. Credit scores are the very essence of what your interest rate relies on. So in other words get a bad debt removed, get higher credit score for each one! Get a bad debt changed to a better debt and get added credit scores. Anything that is done to increase and improve your credit reports is going to improve your credit scores so our only goal and the only thing we do here is help people get better credit so they can have better credit scores for the end result of saving tons of money on interest for many years.

If you use this company, they will do right by you. They provided me with licensing and bonding information right up front and without hesitation. They did exactly what they said they would do. They are an honest company. I do not know if they are one of the "three legitimate" ones referenced above, but I do know they are honest and fair.

Its too late to try to negotiate with them. They got their money and they are not going to remove it now. Just rebuild your credit and start paying your bills on time.
