Statute of limitations is very important for the state your debt originated.

Please review link below.

If it has been longer than statute of limitations then send a letter to the collection agency IN WRITING that you dispute the validity of the debt BECAUSE based on your review of the laws for your state, the statute of limitations has passed. And you are no longer LEGALLY liable for this unpaid debt.

YOU MUST SEND THIS LETTER IN WRITING TO THE COLLECTION AGENCY WITHIN 30 DAYS OF RECEIVING THEIR CLAIM AGAINST YOU.

SEND THE LETTER CERTIFIED RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED!!! keep the postal receipt as proof of mailing.

Put all of this in a folder.

If they still pursue you, ONLY DEAL WITH THEM IN WRITING AND IF THEY STILL TRY TO BRING TO COURT ===> MAKE A MOTION TO DISMISS BECAUSE THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR THE DEBT APPLIES TO THE REPO.
