A President and CEO of a company emailed me that he was impressed with my resume and asked me to come in for interview. So I did. He told m that out of around 100s of resume, my resume was one that attracted them. During the interview, he asked me, How is my computer skills. I said I am okay, good enough. He asked me what is my salary level desired. I told him whatever you posted on the website. That was just it. Then they asked me if I have any question. I told them not really and I told them that I would ask question as I work for them. If they liked my resume but they didnt ask too much question during the interview, will I mostly like to be hired? if you are boss what do you think? Any interview experiences?

I took a job at Lowe's Home Improvement and two days later I received a call offering me a job to be a Social Worker for my state. I only worked at Lowe's for two days, but I want to be paid for the hours that I worked. I have been trying for over a month to get Lowe's give my check to me, but they will not pay me. The Lowe's that I worked at had really lazy manager's! What can do to get paid?

Our office is a cube farm. Private offices are for executives only. My manager sits right behind me and is exceptionally LOUD, especially when he's on the phone. He's driving me crazy. How do you complain to the boss about the boss?

isnt there supposed to be a balance? will the people who cant afford to go to college get forced into the service/labor industry? everyone seems to have such high goals here of starting a buisness and going to college and working high class jobs, which is great but if EVERYONE does that wont it cause some economic problems??? if you agree how could we fix those problems? if you disagree explain your opinion.

Or do they have other tasks or have periods or relative inactivity? I'm thinking of applying to a call center for a satellite company, but it seems like it will be exhausing being on the phone all day except for breaks and lunch.

I am a senior with a 3.7 GPA and had attended two pre-college programs. I show no interest in attending college, yet people are pressuring me to sign up for scholarships and financial aid and stuff.

I plan on living my life without having to attend college, yet I don't want to disappoint my family. They mean everything to me, and when I told my dad...

Well, honestly, I really don't know if college is right for me. I plan on being successful without a college degree, if that is possible. A few opinions on how I could do that?

I left my previous job at a large law firm because things did not work out: they were not very happy with my performance at the end - did good but not great, but I learned my lesson, have great credentials and experience, and left on good terms. My previous boss said that he will give me a good reference if asked. What do I say at job interviews when they ask me about the reason I left the previous job? Please don't suggest that I tell the truth because no one will hire me if I admit that the previous firm let me go...

I have been working with another woman in the pet business (hers) for almost a year. I love the dogs I am working with but working for her has become a nightmare. She is inconsistent and flip flops from week to week and tells me one week that she is going to take the dogs from me because she is broke and needs the money and tells me to find a pt job. So I look for a pt job. The next week she says she didn't say that. I have the emails to prove that she did. She complains to me all the time about her finances and tells me every week to hold my paychecks in case they bounce.
Money wise I am sinking! I want to break out on my own and do the work myself. I am capable and have the ideas to do it. As it stands now, she pays me a % of the client's fee. In other words whatever she wants to pay me.
My question is do I just end with her and give up the dogs I already have with her? Once I do, they are gone, they go back to her. But I just cannot work like this anymore.
Thanks for listening!

i have a resume made recently , and i was inclined on the fact that I must write a cover letter no matter what the case.

Yesterday during the thanksgiving party I was talking to my cousins who works at the same position i want to work.. it seems they didn't give much importance for cover letters at all. I don't understand how that's possible..

he said he don't remember what he wrote in his cover letter for the job where he's currently working in . and my other cousin said he didn't write a cover letter.

Now I am confused

what do you think I should do?

I just got laid off from my job and I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life now.
I have my Bachelor of Arts in Health Sciences, but it doesn't get me much because it's just an undergrad.
I would like to get into a profession that helps people, but I have no idea what to do (without having to go back to university). I was looking at being an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, but realized that they don't make very good money (it's more of a part-time job).
Does anyone have any ideas of careers that are out there that allow me to help people?? (that maybe aren't really heard of...)
I know it's kind of a general question, but I'm really at a loss here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated -- serious replies only please.

I have always loved gymnastics and I competed in high school. I just graduated college and I have been working as a gymnastics coach for a local fitness facility for 3 months. I love the work (I coach pre team and help with team 3). I only work about 12 hours a week. I have been thinking of quitting because on days that I work during the day it takes me 50 minutes to get there and I will also be taking a class starting Jan. and hopefully starting graduate school next fall for physcial therapy. I was wondering if I should stick it out or look for a different job that I can get more hours and is closer for me. The gas prices and not having a full time job are really hurting me. If I do quit, will it be bad for trying to get other jobs? Thank you!

I went for a job interview the other day for a cruise ship admin position, organised by an agency.I made a real effort to look good-instead of a suit however i wore a black tank top over a white shirt,to look different. My friends said i looked very smart.Everything went very well.2 days later i had a call from my agent saying the company did not want to employ me based on the fact that i was poorly presented and i talked too much!! I think they were making excuses for my overly confident manner. Is it possible to look/sound too interested? and does this put employers off? does the grounds for refusal to employ sound unfair to you? and have you had a similar experience?

Thanks.

My boss is extremely mean and he doesn't like me. Everyone knows it, co-workers often take up for me.He is so mean to me, I have decided to quit. I don't plan to list him as a reference. I don't think he would give me a good recommendation anyway. Is it necessary to put in a two weeks notice, if my new employer wants me to start immediately?
