hi, im 18 years old and i work at a resturaunt and its just not paying the bills. I've done a bit of research on the idea of dancing...and i dont think its demeaning at all. I love to dance and i believe i can become good at it with the proper help. i see all my friends just struggling to keep their heads above water and soon i will be doing the same. Its not a career goal, and i dont drink or do drugs so i believe i can stay pretty safe while doing it. I guess m question is... is there anyone out there who can help / mentor me with the steps it takes into become successful in this field?
p.s. if you are going to criticize me than dont waster your time, im looking for real help here from people with real expierience...so if your a hater please just save it for someone else. Thanks.

I do not think it is a demeaning job at all, in fact that line of work is probably more demeaning to the clientel than the employees. I mean a guy so sad and pathetic he is willing to spend loads of money just to see a naked woman dance? Women are actually smart to play on man's frailties like this. I think many people confuse stripping for prostitution and that is why it gets a bad reputation. Dancing naked is no more demeaning than being a miserable white-collar yes man, and strippers can make a decent living too if they're good, you only have to take you clothes off, the white-collar man needs to kiss *** for 8 hours a day to get ahead. I think you'd learn your tips on the job, for instance, finding the guys that shell out lots of cash, changing up what you do and see what works to get guys attention, things like that. I honestly don't see anything wrong with what you want to do, businesses exist because of demand and there are demand for strippers. If you could make a decent buck off of it why not?

Let's put aside the usual moral clap-trap and what-not that's been thrown around and probably will continue to be thrown around.

Please keep in mind that, if you are going to persue this field, you need to exercise extreme caution. First, many club owners are real criminals. Some even have connections to organized crime. They will have no qualms about using you or ripping you off. What's more, with their money and muscle, you will be powerless to stop them.

Second, the clientele at these places are less-than-desirable. Let's just say that they are not there to strike-up a conversation and discuss your life goals. They may dress-up like respected businessmen, they may even be educated, but are most serial killers.

Basically, many of these people will come to you with a smile and, at first, be helpful, but don't be fooled - they are wolves in sheep's clothing.

Please be careful.

sweetie, getting into that line of WORK is no good. You don't drink or do drugs YET, but you most certainly will get sucked into this..I worked beside a very nice lady a few years ago,NAMED MOM, who devoted her whole life to getting these drug addicted girls OUT of stripping and back to a normal life, by working in her restaurant.

What you believe right now is simply not the reality of the situation.

Stripping is not dancing. Guys go to strip clubs to watch women take their clothes off...How fast can you take your clothes off...

Girls get sucked into drugs because the stripping sucks the life out of them and they hang around other strippers who drink and smoke crack and do heroin just to get by. You will NEVER find a stipper anywhere who doesn't do drugs. Its a part of the lifestlye.

Like the person below be says..these guys who run strip clubs are criminals, with many ties to the underworld..and when they decide you are going to start hooking...you are going to be powerless to stop them. They are BAD people.

You're right...stripping is not a demeaning job at all. I've been to strip clubs before for whatever various male bday parties...and the women looked so dignified up there dancing and then crawling around on all fours picking up the ones that the drunk men threw up on the stage.

I will not criticize you it is your life but I will give you some advice.
Ask your self if you will like you if you do this. That is the only real question you need to answer to yourself. Can you look you in the eye and say this will not weigh on my heart?. If you can do this and like you then do it. But please ask yourself this. There are lots of ways to make good money and you will have your self respect. e-mail me if you want to know how to make $600 to $800 a week and stay dressed.

I have real tips but I wont tell you. I am sorry I dont think you have reaserched it enough. Yeah the moiney is great. But in the background what they dont tell you is the drugs, and the extra stuff. There are alot of illegal things going on. Experience is speaking. In a year you will be in rehab or in jail.
Please try college to better yourself, please love your body enough to not fill it with the bad stuff..
I AM not Nocking you I am just warning you

Why dont you be a dancer instead of a stripper. In ny I know there are places where you can take stripper classes(no joke) but I seriously think that strpping is a demeaning job and lowers your self esteem masivly.... at least i hope so.

Go to strip club watch for a while then speak to a few of the girls. See if this is something you might want to do, after you learn from them exactly what they do.
