I have always loved gymnastics and I competed in high school. I just graduated college and I have been working as a gymnastics coach for a local fitness facility for 3 months. I love the work (I coach pre team and help with team 3). I only work about 12 hours a week. I have been thinking of quitting because on days that I work during the day it takes me 50 minutes to get there and I will also be taking a class starting Jan. and hopefully starting graduate school next fall for physcial therapy. I was wondering if I should stick it out or look for a different job that I can get more hours and is closer for me. The gas prices and not having a full time job are really hurting me. If I do quit, will it be bad for trying to get other jobs? Thank you!

You have to look out for #1. I can't see leaving one job hurting getting a job. You have good logical reasons.
Find jobs that are close to home and will best suit your schedule. You might even consider getting some private students. Less people, controlled hours, higher pay and be your own boss; and it would easily transfer when you go back to school.

Do not Quit.

I am a level 6 gymnast and I owe it all to my coach. If coaching is what you really like.,l ook into making money online for additional income or something but do not quit. I don't know what city you're in but my coach might be able to give you some more advice at gymdestics.com.

I don't know if she's hiring now but it's worth a look. Think about the kids like yourself that really love the sport and like you coaching them.

I am a coach as well and I recently quit coaching because I moved to far away from my old gym. I would do anything to be coachin again. I miss it so much. So my suggestion to you is that if you love coaching then stick it out until you start Grad school, you will wish you did if you don't
