i'm working in a real estate company as a receptionist & i was recently offered a job in a different company offering a base salary that is 20% higher than my current rate. i was already decided on resigning but my boss told me that he'll be nedding a Marketing Coordinator soon & i'm being considered (i'm a Marketing Management degree holder). that opportunity was the main reason i stayed in the company. that happened barely 2 weeks ago. today i found out that the company recently hired a Mktg Coordinator and i'm stuck as a receptionist! now i feel stupid! what am i going to do????

im only 13 but i ALWAYS think about what life will be like when im an adult. you know, what ill name my kids, what my wedding will be like, etc. anyways, i thought being a wedding planner would be a great job. if you are/know a wedding planner, please give me some info on what its like! thanks!

I was not looking for another job, but I was recently approached by a former colleague and was offered a better paying job. I was only hired at my current job a month ago, although I've been with the company a total of 9 years (I quit in 2004 and was rehired this past June). What do I do?

I think in terms of etiquette, I should turn the job offer down, but financially, I could really use that extra money.

is getting a degree really that important?

I have heard from a real story...
This person Mr A, who have worked in the industry for a no. of years and is very experienced but he only has a diploma and the upper management position is never opened to him for years...

There comes this fresh graduate with honours and was immediately offered a upper management position...

Why is that so? I thought experience is something that is very important which will determine one's career advancement? Not not the piece of paper?

But did the employers consider the fact that the honours graduate may be academic smart but may not be worldly-wise.enough for their company?

I want a summer job sooo badly now, but i didn't think of applying to jobs in June because of exams and stuff. I will be graduating in December 2007 with a B.A. in Sociology and a concentration in Human Services. Does anyone have any insight to the job market for this field? Especially in the South Carolina (Columbia, Charleston, Greenville) area where I would like to live. How long does it take to be hired for an entry level position such as a Human Service Specialist I? I do not have any internship experience, however, I am a volunteer at a religious based social service agency.

I hold a masters in Elementary Education/ Curriculum Development- Bachelors in Liberal Studies/Elementary Education, and an Associates in Criminal Justice. I have taught at Elementary level for 4 years and middle/High school Social Studies for 3 years. I also teach in a prison during the summer.

I ordered a printer for an employee. My boss told me to get another one. I tried and it has been discontinued. My boss got real snippy and emailed me that she ordered it on-line just the other day. I have decided that I want to be a lawyer when I grow up. I tried researching the different types of lawyers, but I'm still not sure what the difference between some is. I am interested in the type of lawyer that defends either a criminal or the person or state accusing someone of a crime.

Please someone tell me the difference between prosecuters, civil lawyers, and criminal lawyers, what they do, and maybe even salaries.

I have been looking for a job since summer started. Now it's half way through summer and a local friendley's is giving interviews the day after tomorrow. I want a job. But my father told me that if I got one even this late in the summer it would only be for the summer. Because of school. So would walking 2 miles in the heat then spending all day every day on my feet for minimum wage or less be worth a job that will only last a max of 8 weeks? Should I even bother this late in the summer? Should I wait until something better comes along? Will something better come along? Would it be idiotic to not at least give this a try? What should I do? Should I walk two miles every day to friendley's and two miles back for money that won't even pay for driver's training? What should I do?
