I'm considering buying into an ElecLocal franchise. They train you to be an electrician as well as providing the tools, vehicle, business support etc. Has anyone had any experience/advice of anything similar or had any dealings with ElecLocal electricians?

Would you hire someone who is shy first, but once I've been in the office for a while, I warm up to people. Would you hire me? At first I am very self conscience of my tasks and responsiblities, I tend to tell myself that something is too hard for me when in reality it's just that I am scared of liking my job tooo much. ( if that makes any sense to you. lol) would you still hire me????

Thanks, and God Bless!

I thought that you gave a letter of resignation when you leave a job right away. A two week notice is telling the job you are leaving in two weeks.

Are they the same? or different?

For instance if I got a job that wanted me to start two weeks from today, but I wanted to leave the company sooner than two weeks, which letter would I use?

How about if the job asked me to start Monday, what letter shoudl I use?

I heard that overweight people have a more difficult time finding jobs. Is that true? I know that it also depends on your knowledge and education, but I'm just curious. If two people had the same education, knowledge, personality, etc. ...would they choose the better looking one or the not so great looking one? And why?

Thanks!

For a wait staff position in a diner, club or/ and bar Is it likely that they may not call them since these are all out of state? Also what do you do If you were not in NY legally, is there a way to verify this, even if you were born in the united states and have a social security # etc...
The people in New York may give a rude impression and even though they liked me may convey it New York style and that may lead them to think I was a horrible employee in California terms?

Why do they always ask if you are working with other recruiters? Does it harm you if you say you are workign with many?

They always ask if your friends need any help, that its like they are sales people.

Are they a good resource to turn to for the next job?

we are moving at the end of the year, but i can't stand my job. there are many positives with it, but they are not outweighing the frustrations, right now.

would you stick it out for 5 more months until you move or would you start job hunting??

thanks for your input!

for those of you wondering about the details:

it's a small company. it's only 4 of us in this office and his mill about 1 hour away. i do mainly admin stuff and working for the owner is like playing cards with someone and THEY make up the rules as you go along. so, no matter how long you play, it always changes so you can never feel like you know what you're doing!
i've been here for about 1.5 years and it's just getting very taxing!

thanks!

Is it normal, or is it weird, I have yet to meet anyone who has ACTUALLY done this for bar tending and / or Wait staff positions, even though it seems bothersome to prospective employers, retro fashioned a bit pushy and strange. If it is done, What should it say? Is there a template?

Is it actually sent through the mail or do you just call them up or hand deliver it ?
Most importantly, How long after the interview should it be sent after, how about two months later, is that too long?

have to choose a major this fall. I am stuck between going for an associates degree in computer information systems or a bachelors degree in business management. Im more interested in computer information systems but the school im at doesnt have a bachelors for it. But I wouldnt mind business if it came down to it. But what I wanna know is which should I pick based only on these factors.

Is the number of jobs in the given field expected to increase or decrease?

can I still get a high paying job in computer information systems with just an associates degree or would getting the bachelors in business administration help me earn more?

. And im talking about entry level jobs, because I have to pay back my student loan 6 months after I grad. so I want to earn as much as I possibly can, regardless of which one it is. So basically financially which one would be better?

I'm starting my first year of college this year, and I still have to set down a major. But heres the thing I want a really nice paying job, and I will work for it. But I don't want to be thirty when I finally reach my posistion, like a doctor is after school, med school, and residency. Thats 12 years. So what else in the field is there, that I can really excel at? Thats only like 8 years or so?

I had a really long interview yesterday and heard back today that I pretty much have the job. I need to send thank you cards today but am not sure what to say. Two people interviewed me and we were all on a first name basis. What should I write in my thank you cards? This is a big, professional firm. Thanks!

How do I expain the gaps on my resume? In June 2004, I was laid off from my HR job. I found out a few weeks later that I was pregnant. I didn't work throughout my entire pregnancy and when my daughter was born, I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. I re-joined the workforce in January 2006 but only worked until April 2006 when my husband got promoted and we relocated. Now, I am wanting to work again (I miss it). How do I possibly explain such long gaps in my work history? I would rather not mention to my potential employer that I have a small child-afraid it would hurt my chances.

I am going for an interview for a Regional Property Manager Trainee position which is a very hard field to break into in my area. What sort of questions can I expect beyond the typical "where do you see yourself in 5 years" and "what qualities can you bring to our company". Please help. I want this job very badly and I am trying to prepare as much as a possibly can. Thank you.
