OMG I'm in exactly the same situation! I love my job but my line-manager is absolutely useless and no-one feels they can approach her because she's so crap at her job. I'm currently looking for new work because I literally cannot stand to have her as a boss any longer. It's not worth the hassle, she or he will probably never leave so it's up to you to do so. Either that or just keep your head down if you can and avoid contact!! Probably not very easy though!

For many, many years, this ol' codger(69), has espoused often: Life is too short to 1. Wear sorry fitting boots,2. Drink cheap whiskey, 3. Dance with a mean woman, 4. Work under stress !!!!! You need to analyze the total situation. Is your boss: 1. a Prima Dona?2. A college educated idiot ( all book learning with very little o.j.t.)? 3. Jealous of your leadership among others?, 4. OR IS HE ATTEMPTING TO GET YOUR AS* STRAIGHT AND PRODUCTIVE??? If you, AND your boss can not come to terms, " MAKE LIKE A TREE, AND LEAVE OUT"!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that's the bad part about a lot of jobs. Learn to tolerate the boss or quit.

Simple. Pick whether your hate of the boss is greater than your love of the job. Is it dead even? Do a coin flip. Either way, you will come to a resolution. If it makes you feel any better, most people hate their bosses.

Learn to live with it sorry, time will tell maybe boss will get moved, maybe he/she will eventually learn to respect you, anything can happen. Most important is liking your job.
