Whatever standard format your company uses for internal traffic is fine. The key is to just not burn any bridges.

Even if you're quitting because you hate your boss, the job was horrible, and they treated you even worse - on paper that's not the reason you're quitting. You have no obligation to divulge details to them as to why, so a generic statement about "moving on", "going in another direction", "taking an oportunity", etc is fine.

And just make sure as well for protecting your reps sake you give fair warning - two weeks is obviously standard, but often after you offer an employer that knows you want to leave will let you move at your pace.

If you do this any employer that has the slightest pull or reputation that could possibly effect the opinion of anyone else you come across professionally will understand that people move on & that company loyalty is great, but its not personal - it's business, and pass on only the reputation you built while working for them - not smears because you left.

Congratulations on sticking it to "the man." Or telling the man to "stick it," whatever your circumstances may be.

There are plenty of samples on the web. Check out my link. You want to make sure not to burn any bridges. Even if you don't go back to work for your old company, they may be called as a reference in the future.

for a letter of resignation you need 2 weeks and that's usually just a paragraph or 2 about how much you enjoyed working with them and you hope that they enjoyed you as much but times change and yadayadayada, you regret to inform them that you will be moving on to such and such.

If your leaving in just a few days, your resignation letter is a simple sticky note that says.
"UP YOURS I QUIT!"

WOW you usually give a two week notice, and for good reason never burn your bridges behind you. Al least give a week. If you are planning on turning it in on Friday, letter will be no good, just do it in person

Well...you're not offering your employer very much notice, but you might want to try something along these lines:

Dear blah, blah, blah,

I hereby tender my resignation from the position of (insert name of position) at (insert name of enterprise) as of (insert Friday's date).
After (insert number of months/years at this company), I have decided to pursue another employment opportunity.

I will recall my time at (insert name of enterprise) fondly. I offer particular thanks to (insert name of person who trained you) for providing my training and (insert name of supervisor) as well for supervising my work over the last (insert number of weeks/months/years you worked under that person).

I have learned so very much and shall remain appreciative of this experience. It was ("truly" is optional, depending on why this is ending) an honor to serve you.

Thank you,

(insert your name)

Best of luck.

You just simply need to say that you are writing to inform them that you will be resigning from your position and the date that it is effective. Also, be sure you are not required to give a certain period of notice.

Does it really matter? Its not like they are going to care about you after you leave, I would use a large amount of cuss words, thats just me.
