I hate my job. I went into this job under the advice of the HR manager. She recommended I get a job in customer service call center to move up in my company. I would have to stay in this job for a year and its been 3 months and I am just fed up. I work in the web support area which means I help people navigate the site and use online tools. I work for a health insurance company. The site goes down daily and I get yelled at and the pay for this is rediculous!! I can't even enjoy my weekends without thinking of this job or enjoy my evenings when I get off everyday!! I want to quit so badly, but need the income for paying my rent and bills..I have applied so many places and no luck. It s-cks you go to college and can't even get a job!! I feel trapped. I get depressed when I think of going to that job every morning. The thought of quitting is comforting to me. I was thinking of quitting and taking a small loan until I found another job to support me for the time..what do you think?

I ran out on my last job, on my first day, during my break. And now the company I am being hired for (Bank of America) is asking for every single company I've ever worked for, and that if there was a conflict with this information (down to the exact month I quit) that it would affect the hiring process? So in continuation. . should I still mention it?

I asked my employee to perform her duties on the job and if she were to leave her station or make a phone call just ask and let me know as the manager on duty that yes I needed to know where she was . Every time I approached her to "coach" her and explain how disrespectful it was by yelling at me, she got up and walked away. This happened twice and after the third time I just sent her home. She then told her mother who came in and got my name and my bosses name so I documented everything in a company write up. I told her as long as she was disrespectful to me that I do not want her working on my shift.
I have gotten complaints from other employees who work with her and she does the same stuff. The general manager of this store told me if she doesn't listen, then I have the authority to send her home which I did. What exactly does telling her mother do for me? I asked the mother that if she didn't listen to her boss would she be fired and she said yes. She just doesn't get the point

I am going to be a junior in college and I am currently a server who makes about 1000 a month at your average chain restaurant. I am no stranger to overscheduling myself, so if I can find a second job that pays well, I would definitely consider the idea. Does anyone know of any well paying jobs that have flexible schedules for young college students? I want to keep my serving job, but I would love to have another job that requires a little less running around and less late hours.

I am interested in both of these programs very much and they both have the same amount of school. I would like to know which one gets pay more up front or in the long run? And which one have more job opportunities? Right now I am a legal assistant and I make $33,000 a year but I have always had a passion for the medical field and kinda bord with the legal field now and can not see myself doing this for the rest of my life. Regardless of what I do or how well I do it at work my supervisor always makes me feel like she is going to fire me. Sometimes she will yell insubordination when I am asking a question. She recently had a fellow employee create a checklist to follow. Getting used to it has been a challenge but I use it. We are supposed to double check each other's work for mistakes and the checklist was created for her to get out of having to proof read the work although that is her job. If she finds one mistake in my work she threatens diciplinary action. Everyone has one or two details that are missed. She also acts like a child when she is mad not making eye contact, whispering behind employee's backs and gossiping. She throws her weight around like she is ALI. And if anyone asks a question we are being insubordinate or if we question her directive, when we know she is wrong, we are dirt. Help.

I have research papers written as Word documents with lots of footnotes/endnotes and some block quotations. When I save them as .txt, the spacing is all f**ked up! Is is appropriate to send a writing sample ommitting the footnotes/endnotes to maintain readability of the document in inline text as long as I acknowledge their ommission? Or can someone help me with the Word .doc to .html conversion??!?
